Part of the book that caught my attention immediately was on page 43. This is when Michael starts to realize that girls will not be questioned if they play like a boy, but boys will be if they play like a girl. Do you think this is a turning point in Michael's life? #XUEngl205

The way Part 1 is written is very interesting. The most striking part was when hiring someone of color was being discussed. This is placed into the story with no context. No names of who was speaking, no quotations. Why do you think the author chose to write this way? #XUEngl205

@FBiffENGL205 I agree, however no matter the disconnect the children always wanted to make their parents proud. The children always knew that the parents raised them the way they did so the children didn't have to experience the same things they did as immigrants.

By the end of Reshma's story, she is proud of her name. If she is now unashamed of her name why does she still use Maya for her Starbucks orders? Is it simply because it makes her life easier or is there still an awkward exchange when she tells new people her name? #XUEngl205

Part of the reading that caught my attention was when it was explained tht the episodes are full of details from the writer's lives. I feel as though this was an amazing way for the writers not only to express their culture more but also share stories from their lives #XUEngl205

@seibertm4 I also thought this part of the show was interesting. It is amazing the difference between what cultures value. Until watching this episode, I never thought about how valuable animal meat is to a lot of cultures. #XUEngl205
