“The mayor maintains her position that the report from the operator of Event Plaza is based on an unreal safety risk. An Eritrean liberation party with 700 to 900 visitors entails a major security risk. The risk of disruptions to public order is considered very high. This is also evident from previous events in Rijswijk, the violent riots in The Hague and from advice from the police," can be read in a statement from her spokesperson.

The spokesperson also adds, " In order to prepare this properly, an application period of 12 weeks applies. The operator has not applied for an event permit. This means that the party on May 25 can not take place.”
