Eritrean Blue Revolutionary Front (EBRF) Conference, where representatives from 16 countries, including the United States, Canada and Africa, will discuss the future of Eritrea post Isaias regime; Signalling a hope for a new generation of leaders ready to bring Eritrea from Isolation and become a Nation that functions based on citizen interests and a reliable ally to its neighbours and geopolitical ally.
Demand for the Immediate Release of Eritrean Blue Revolution Leaders Unjustly Detained in Ethiopia
The global Eritrean community and human rights defenders urgently call for the immediate and unconditional release of Habtom Gebretsaidik, Yonas Mebrahtom, and Zerisenay Meles, leaders of the Eritrean Blue Revolution Movement, who have been detained without charge since October 17, 2025, in Ethiopia.
The three have now been held for over 12 days without being presented before a court a direct violation of Article 19 of the Ethiopian Constitution, which guarantees that detainees must be charged or released within 48 hours.
These men are peaceful activists dedicated to justice, democracy, and the freedom of the Eritrean people. Their detention represents not only a serious breach of their individual rights but also undermines the values of justice and rule of law that Ethiopia has pledged to uphold.
We urge the Ethiopian authorities to:
1. Immediately release Habtom Gebretsaidik, Yonas Mebrahtom, and Zerisenay Meles.
2. Respect constitutional rights and international human rights obligations.
3. Ensure protection for all Eritrean activists and refugees who advocate peacefully for democratic change.
Silencing voices of justice through detention cannot bring peace it only deepens mistrust and repression. The Blue Revolution stands for freedom, unity, and lawful transformation, and its members must not be criminalized for their beliefs.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
🕊️ We stand together to demand their freedom.

Urgent Human Rights Alert: Collective Punishment in Mereta Sebene, Eritrea
Mereta Sebene, near Segeneyti, Eritrea October 2025
We have received alarming reports that Eritrean military forces are placing entire families under house arrest, detaining women and children, and sealing family homes to exert pressure on relatives accused of evading the regime’s indefinite national service.
This represents yet another instance of collective punishment a deliberate and systematic tactic employed by the Eritrean dictatorship to instill fear, suppress dissent, and control the civilian population. Such actions constitute clear violations of international human rights law, including the prohibition against arbitrary detention and the right to family life.
We call upon the United Nations, the UN Human Rights Council, and Amnesty International to urgently investigate these abuses and to hold those responsible accountable.
The international community must not remain silent as Eritrean citizens continue to suffer under an oppressive system that destroys families and livelihoods in the name of control and obedience.
Justice and accountability are long overdue.

The #Hgdef regime has begun forcibly evicting mothers and children from their homes in Segeneyti and surrounding villages. In addition to the evictions, the regime is confiscating property by force. Although this is not the first time such events have conspired in #Eritrea, these actions are a direct strategy aimed at capturing men who are in hiding to avoid forced military conscription. Since many of these men have fled to remote rural areas, regime officials are now using hunger as a weapon — pressuring families to cut off all support. Relatives/ countrymen are being threatened or punished if they attempt to deliver food or basic necessities, in an effort to drive the men back to the villages where they can be identified and detained.
#Eritrean state media may be preaching “peace” and renewed alliance with our northern neighbor #Tigray, but mark my words: #IsaiasAfwerki has a different agenda for the Horn of Africa. In his 34 years of absolute power, he has never delivered peace — and he’s not about to start now. #DIA MUST GO.

#Update: In Washington, Senator Ted Cruz – Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Africa – sat down with a delegation from Eritrea’s Blue Revolution Front, the opposition movement challenging Isaias Afwerki’s brutal dictatorship. Eritrea’s tyrant may rule by fear at home, but his critics are finding their voice abroad.
Isaias holds up a glowing report card - applauded by diaspora loyalists who live in comfort abroad. The sad reality tells a different story: People crushed by indefinite conscription, poverty, and exile. This is the true legacy of 34 years.

Today, together with the global BN team, I met with the Eritrea Afar National Congress in Samara, a strategic town bordering Eritrea. We had a productive discussion on regime change and a peaceful transition post-Afwerki dictatorship. We also visited their office in Samara. Nhamedu ab tika hamedu. Congratulations! #RegimechangeinEritrea
Our global BNH team met with the Eritrean Afar National Congress in Samara, where we confidently focused on regime change and the peaceful securing of our nation. There is much to be accomplished, and together we will move forward and achieve our goals. #RegimechangeinEritrea
Eritreans deserve better. They will be better off when dictator Isaias Afwerki is exiled or gone. Isaias can't do a damned thing to silence discussion. The time is now for Eritreans in diaspora to plan transition & #Eritrea's recovery. My full interview: https://t.co/D9476kr4Bv
Eritreans in the Netherlands: locked up, beaten, kidnapped and resold. Evidence points to Eritrean people smugglers, who partly operated from the Netherlands, have been guilty of human trafficking, violence and other atrocities on a large scale

I call on the leadership of UNICEF to reconsider its decision and consider alternative candidates, whose actions and values will demonstrate a genuine commitment to human rights and the well-being of children, as UNICEF is expected to represent.
Now, more than ever, it is important that the organization’s decisions align with its core values and avoid legitimizing those who represent anti-human and anti-child policies.
