Prominent in tech. Moving to SF and deeply getting to know people in the startup community was an eye opening experience. Everybody pitches the idea that they are a scrappy underdog, and then you find out they all have trust funds, fully paid college tuition, and their parents are paying rent.
The $250mm is incredibly misleading. The actual film sold to Focus for ~$15mm and the final number doesn’t include theater take and marketing expenses.
This is a $10/hour cashier at WalMart opining not getting a percentage cut of the $10k in sales she did that day.
The windfall here is the career opportunity, which I suspect is now gone.
@ShaneCashman I can’t speak to most of these but it’s not actually weird that he shot at the same range DHS uses. Government and local LE agencies often use civilian ranges. It’s extremely common.

When I was young and starting my first web dev agency, I pitched to everybody that ours would be a transparent design studio. We would share the process with the client and involve them at every step.
As I grew more experienced I realize how bad of an idea this is.
