@TaylorWAnderson The best part? That section of street has on-street parking so people just got routed between traffic and parked cars. (Yes they could have crossed the street twice, but the closed section was about the width of the street, so I never saw anyone take that option.)
@TaylorWAnderson A section of sidewalk in downtown Bountiful was closed by the construction safety fence of a (still unfinished) project for over a year past the demo of the historic sidewalk-abutting building before they moved it back to the now-vacant-lot side of the sidewalk.
@Chris_pajk @classicryan17 We also had more places like this in the era when rail was king. Rail suburbs and trolleys through walkable downtowns were normal.
@EliMcCann My favorite argument I heard (at their booth just this past week, post adoption) was that the gov wasted lots of money on it...
My friend pointed out to them that he fails to see how wasting more time and money arguing about it helps at this point.
@RideUTA@thetransitapp So that means more frequent service... right?
JK, I know UTA doesn't increase service for the times where people who regularly commute in a car actually want to take transit instead of their car. (weekends, holidays, sporting events)
@BrentToderian@living_marble T-shirts are the deadliest of clothing! They hardly stop any bullets!
*what the Gap won't tell you about their lethal double knit tops*
@laurenancona@notinasituation Yep. But then watching the movie makes me sweat anyway. And they're soooo loud. The only time I go to theaters is with my wife, but if not for her I'd just go home when I forget earplugs.
@danielstorey85 It's like the rabid fans of college American football here in the US... They obviously don't get less enjoyment out of it than watching NFL, but _any_ collegiate team would get crushed in the NFL. Even if they have some stars they won't have the depth to hang.
@danielstorey85 All these people hating on women's sports might as well say that they wouldn't have enjoyed their favorite sport or team if they'd been watching it 50 years ago, when players were objectively slower and had worse stats.
