@em_umoh @NLH2224 The word Socialism is not analogous to the USSR in Europe. In countries that weren't in the USSR sphere it's just as much if not more associated with labour parties and movements, hence why the mainstream centre-left european party is called the "party of european socialists".

Either the democrats have to accept being a very big tent or they have to make it actually viable to run outside the two major parties. Easier to run in the D primary than spend half the camp just getting sigs and get blamed as spoiler if they're not thrown off the ballot first

Don’t use our resources. Don’t rely on our volunteers. Don’t use our infrastructure. Don’t ask Democrats to invest their time, money, and energy in your campaign.

Focus on building the party you actually support.

Political parties aren’t perfect, but they’re built by millions of people who knock doors, make calls, organize meetings, and fight for the values they believe in. If you don’t believe in the party, then don’t ask its members to carry you across the finish line.

@ASPertierra FP seems to have successfully manipulated the electoral rules to massively favour themselves and got half the senate seats and nearly 1/3 of the congress with just 15-16% of the vote in each so as others say it will be hard to impeach

@Entengummitiger @The_Davos_Man Her party doesn't have a 2/3 majority in parliament and the opposition and civil society is strong and she has to deal with coalition partners as well. She can't just bulldozer over everything like Orban could. She is trying to make it easier by messing with the electoral law tho

@hellspatisserie Besides other points it's also an enormous country of more than 1 billion people so it's also going to vary a lot depending on location and social and economic status.
