Big news: Kimi-K3 by @Kimi_Moonshot is now #1 in the Frontend Code Arena with 1679 pts, surpassing Claude Fable 5.
This is a 17-place jump from Kimi-k2.6 (#18 -> #1).
In Frontend, Kimi-K3 ranked #1 in 6 of 7 domains: Brand & Marketing, Reference-Based Design, Data & Analytics, Consumer Product, Simulations, and Content Creation Tools, landing #2 only in Gaming behind Fable 5.
The full model weights will be released by July 27.
Congrats to the @Kimi_Moonshot team on this major milestone!
This is overstating it. The GPL share of new and actively developed projects has declined relative to more permissive licenses but that doesn't mean that GPL is disappearing. It's absolute share is stable or even growing and a lot of foundational projects are still GPL.
Usage of the GPL (GNU General Public License) is decreasing at a significant rate among key Open Source and Free Software projects.
BSD projects have been working to remove dependency on any GPL'd code, while many Linux projects (including Ubuntu) are aggressively replacing GPL'd code with MIT licensed code.
@Waffl3x Look at this study https://t.co/JEMJSMPBuG. While new projects are adopting permissive licenses, it also shows that licenses like the GPL also have high retention rates. This does not mean that the GPL is disappearing.
