Both Slør and Piculet Effects got some kind words yesterday.
@TapSmart captured how the two apps differ quite well:
“Piculet Effects certainly doesn’t feel as downright useful as Slør, then, but it’s similarly clever and polished. And it’s proved to be even more fun.”
Check out Slør’s sister app Piculet Effects that just launched today!
The app empowers you to apply advanced visual effects to Portrait Mode photos using depth information captured by dual camera iPhones.

Here it is: @halidecamera 1.11 unlocks a really solid Portrait Mode for *everything* on the XR. I love the iPhone XR, and it's really nice to be able to take beautiful portrait shots of my (also single-camera, space grey) cat or other cool things.
I mean, look at these!
I just posted my pre-release review of the iPhone XR camera (from Grand Canyon!) I rigorously tested Single Lens Portrait Mode, Smart HDR and more… check it out: https://t.co/ZmOkCBYudH
The Verge has published their excellent Pixel 3 review. Of course, I mostly care about the camera. @backlon confirms its a fantastic camera, but that for things like Portrait mode, dual cameras still win...

This is a great way to get adjustable depth of field and other cool depth features in your Halide shots—even on dual-camera iPhones that aren't iPhone XS!
If you want to blur the background even with distant foreground objects:
1. Use @halidecamera to capture depth photos.
2. Edit using the Macro filter in Slør.
