Derisked the pipeline and long term health by cutting off the 2 pipelines Pfizer was less interested in. Pfizer acquires for $3-4B I bet.

Och's ceiling is back of the rotation starter, which we have plenty of (Vasquez, Brito, Waldron)

If Merrill missed the 1st mo., only played 80% of games (equivalent to 6-day rest instead of 5), and was defensively subbed out at the end of games, he wouldn't win ROY.

Skenes was 21% from qualifying. That's the equivalent of < 400 PA and < 100 games for a position player.

All this, "Historical season," talk when Skenes didn't play anyone, hardly pitched, & 2 pitchers in the last 5 season had better rookie years and didn't win ROY

@c_s_b_9_4 @KyleInSanDiego @RealCJ10 If Merrill wasn't doing it on 6 day rest and getting pulled after 80 pitches every game it should be him. He simply wasn't being asked to have a normal SP workload.

He also only played 1 playoff team in his last 9 games skipping starts against the SD and KC for extra rest.
