Ebenezer Ghartey, a National Service Personnel at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), has been charged with allegedly stealing GHยข308,300 through unauthorised Mobile Money transactions.
He pleaded not guilty to the stealing charge before an Accra Circuit Court and was granted GHยข100,000 bail with three sureties.
Prosecutors allege he transferred funds from a DVLA administrative officerโs MTN merchant account to his MoMo account and reportedly spent the money on rent, a Hyundai Elantra, electronics, furniture, and his siblingโs school fees.
He has been ordered to report to investigators twice weekly, with the case adjourned to August 4, 2026.
