Artificial intelligence is changing education. But what does that mean for teachers?
@UNESCO's AI Competency Framework for Teachers sets out 15 competencies across five key areas, including AI ethics, pedagogy and a human-centred approach.
The goal? To help teachers harness AI while keeping human agency and teachers’ rights at the heart of education.

AI is rapidly reshaping education, influencing how learners learn, how teachers exercise professional judgement and how learning is assessed.
At #DigitalLearningWeek, @UNESCO is bringing the global education community together to critically examine how AI can be governed to support the future of teaching and learning.

Impecable.
Aplausos.

The proliferation of concepts, theories, methods, papers, and case studies on an ever-expanding range of topics has led, paradoxically, to a weakening of theoretical debate in communication studies. Today, it is increasingly difficult to find sustained discussions around specific concepts, models, or theoretical frameworks.
My article “Five Theses on Media Evolution: Continuing the Conversation,” recently published in #OpenAccess by Communication & Change, emerged as a response to a discussion that questioned certain aspects of the evolutionary theory of media. As I have argued for almost two decades, theories are not closed systems but ongoing conversations among scientific actors. They are also speech acts that involve us, challenge us, and must always be tested if they are to prove their validity, as Charles Peirce and Karl Popper remind us in different ways.
Thanks to Otávio Daros for opening the conversation, and to Communication & Change for publishing my response.
Theoretical conversation never stops. It will continue.
