🚨🔞These images document a crime so violent, extreme and brutal that it defies precedent.

Protesters wounded during demonstrations were receiving medical treatment when security forces entered hospital wards and shot them in the head at point-blank range.

The victims are seen with catheters still inserted, bandages intact, and monitoring leads attached. This chronology matters. A person killed by a gunshot to the head would be declared dead at the scene, not admitted for care. These were patients. They were alive. They were under medical supervision. They were executed where they lay.

Hospitals, protected spaces under international law, were transformed into sites of execution by the cruel forces of the Islamic Republic. This deliberate murder of the wounded is a clear crime against humanity by the Islamic Republic.

Thanks to the Actuaries Institute for this analysis. The good news is the excess mortality is much less in 2023 than 2022, about half. The bad news is it is still a v large death toll (8-10,000) that if not compared to 2022 would shock more. COVID drives this. We must do better.
