@niamh_molloy18#MUS2011 Thats a good thought! I had been focusing more so on focusing on the limitation of Canadian music and no so much as the inclusion of Canadian music. I agree its very important to keep our culture and values alive through our music as others in other countries do.
@April_Frampton#MUS2011 I somewhat agree with you, however to say the CA vs US isnt as big of a deal as it has been I feel isnt a fair judgement. Especially with the current controversial president. Music should be based on quality & popularity of the song/type of music. Regardless of CA vs US.
#MUS2011 I dont believe theres a need for a quota on Canadian content. Music & other arts should not be based on their geographical location but rather on their talent and quality of music. Music is universal, it is enjoyed internationally, therefore there is no need for a quota.
@AndrewPG_98 I agree. As someone who is passionate about music, I would much rather see a live act than listen to a recording. I mentioned in my post how seeing concerts is becoming more popular again and people are appreciating the sounds of live music more often than not. #MUS2011
@BilodeauReagan Good idea! I did not consider this but when taking into account that we live on an island, travel is often involved to see live acts of a larger stature making them much more costly than even a subscription service such as Spotify or Apple Music. #MUS2011
#mus2011 I believe Wald is partly right, with new technology we have moved away from live entertainment & real life expereinces. However, people who truly are passionate about music still enjoy live music more. I believe live music & entertainment is becoming more popular again.
@LeahEdison1 I agree! Being able to have any genre of music at our fingertips can be so useful to our everyday lives. For example when I go running, I like to have upbeat music to keep me in the moment and motivated for my run. I think music serves the same purpose in many situations.#MUS2011
@kaitlin_mugford I agree, I usually have my headphones with me wherever I go. They allow me to have music to serve as a distraction, entertainment, and they provide the means to listen to music that will accompany any situation and potentially an important memory. # MUS2011
Music streaming systems, such as Spotify allow us to listen to whatever music we want in that moment, wherever we want to listen to it. It give music a role in our lives so that every memory we have is usually now accompanied by a song that was playing in the background. #MUS2011
@DevonRyan1 Good thought Devon! Hadnt thought of it in that perspective. Songs can definitely devalue certain professions such as police officers. Artists have a huge impact on how we view things and can shape our opinions on them, and may even deter someone from entering such fields#MUS2011
@l_parrell I agree! The industry keeps listener passive by making the music more attractive to listeners through its production, rhythms and beats that often we overlook the underlying messages in the lyrics #MUS2011
Music implements the idea that we need certain things to be happy. This music influences people into believing they need such things to have a good life, it has now become the norm to desire such unnecessary and potentially harmful things to live life like celebrities. #MUS2011
