16. Security detail,of CEC Gyanesh Kumar enhanced. He is going to be one of the most protected individuals in the country.
*****Can’t recall such a divisive environment in our country over Election Commission in the past 3 decades of professional journalism.
No government in india has ever made such massive security arrangements and imposed embargoes to quell a students protest, such as the one we see now.
Not even when anti-reservation protests were at its peak in 1990.
I hope the intelligence inputs are sound, if the govt anticipates large-scale violence, organised by protesting students.
But if not, then this is a very serious matter, with major ramifications.

@OversLife Robin Singh was severely underrated. I say he was a Champion and a Legend everybody slept on. This generation may never know his value and how many match saving innings he has played.

Warm greetings on the occasion of Independence Day.

We remember with gratitude the countless freedom fighters whose courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment ensured the end of colonial rule. Their dreams continue to inspire us as we work together to build a Viksit Bharat.

Powered by 140 crore Indians, our nation is scaling new heights of progress across different sectors. May this journey keep progressing at an even greater pace in the times to come.

@PopcornPost_ In their absolute primes, I'd say Ali beats Tyson in a Boxing match itself. Iron Mike had that George Foreman Punch&Left Hook but Ali can avoid, feint as well as block them&outbox Tyson. But on avg, non prime day,Tyson wins by an earbite. But non boxers win this one ie Lee&Norris

Huge news for ICTS & Indian science!

Congrats to Prof. Deepak Dhar on receiving the 2026 ICTP Dirac Medal, alongside B. Derrida, M. Mézard & H. Sompolinsky, for pioneering contributions to statistical mechanics & its extensions to AI, neuroscience & non-equilibrium systems!

[Ankit Maurya @chillwithankit]

This man on my left is the first Indian to win Boltzmann Medal, the highest honour in Statistical Physics.

And yesterday, ICTP announced that he has been awarded the prestigious Dirac Medal for his contributions to theoretical physics.

But his story is much bigger than the awards.

Meet Prof. Deepak Dhar, one of India’s finest theoretical physicists.

He studied at Allahabad University and later went to IIT Kanpur for his master’s, where he decided to pursue physics seriously as a career.

What came next was even more fascinating.

He went to Caltech for his PhD, where he was exposed to some of the greatest minds in physics and even worked with legendary Nobel laureate Richard Feynman as his teaching assistant.

He had everything one could wish for. He could have stayed in the US and built a remarkable career there.

But he chose to return to India.

He came back and contributed deeply to building India’s scientific ecosystem and Today, he serves as a Distinguished Professor at ICTS-TIFR, Bengaluru, where I recently had the privilege of shooting an episode with him.

He is genuinely one of the GOATs of theoritical physics, yet remains incredibly humble and grounded.

Such a proud moment for Indian science.

So Sauron had the ring for like 1,850 years.
Isildur: 2
The river: 2,461
Déagol: A few minutes?
Gollum: 478
Bilbo: 60
Frodo: 17

Technically, the river was the Lord of the Ring.

Anyway, don't crime today.
