No Govt hospitals in Tamilnadu will turn away any patient due to their financial status. They treat everyone.

Dr. I am only trying to find some more details about the Govt Hospital abilities, to enable common citizens to take right calls in a similar situation you were in.

"I contacted many Drs known to me, requesting treatment. Most were reluctant, citing my Aspirin intake( for my heart disease ),& the complexity of spinal surgery" - I presume, Drs referred here are from Govt Hospitals. You took the right decision post their reluctance.

What could be the option for a poor patient? - depend on Govt Hospitals or getting treated at Private with right Dr?

They might beg / borrow / pledge for the money considering the criticality of the illness.

@raavanamavan7 @stylepandiguy Bottle charge is must. ₹10 per bottle is very high value, compared today's scrap rate and no one will throw it away. Most of the bottles are thrown around and create lot of nuisance and safety issues.
