Everyone loves this tweet, but it got it completely wrong. It is the sci-fi author — not the tech company — who is the true villain, for having put the story of the Torment Nexus into the training data.
ok i read the cyber part of the mythos model card. some thoughts. 250 "trials" across 50 crash categories but almost every full exploit is a permutation of the same 2 bugs, rediscovered from different starting points not 250 independent attempts. when you get rid of those 2 bugs out (fig B) and mythos's full-exploit rate drops to 4.4%. so actually across both setups mythos leverages 4 distinct bugs total not 50 as fig A might suggest. 1/n
I've been working on a new LLM inference algorithm.
It's called Speculative Speculative Decoding (SSD) and it's up to 2x faster than the strongest inference engines in the world.
Collab w/ @tri_dao@avnermay. Details in thread.
@Reynhard_Jenkem@JCeacc@BradRTorgersen Germany alone built nearly 800 wind turbines this year, plus 13+ GW of solar. The required renewables to replace nuclear are not some insane number and sooooo much cheaper to build.
@benjilona Human: Says thing is not human
Human: goes on to acquire knowledge in a way that is customary amongst humans since forever
???
What exactly is your point?
@tenobrus @42057955k @pickover It is unfortunately untrue that N has fewer points than Z, just like that [0,1) fewer than [0,1]. Against intuition, infinite set cardinality can only be compared on the basis of countability of the set, i.e. if you can find bijections between two sets that cover all elements.
@JL1271516@JasonTo40895381@shannonrwatts Since we have objectice evidence regarding the merit of vaccines, the "debate" would then be if we want to do things that make sense and are proven to be effective in fighting deseases or not. How does that constitute a public debate worth having?
@JasonTo40895381@shannonrwatts This should not be debated but rather studied. By scientists. Following the scientific method. Which they already did, hence the recommendations for all these vaccines. It is a great error to think, carefully collected objective evidence needs a public debate.
@svpino Ok, but how is this suprising? I feel like we get this kind of study every few months confirming, once again, that LLMs are not general reasoners.
@miketheD88 @Obsidianwing@joakial_ Which is precisely why Germany does not allow for home schooling. This makes sure that everyone receives the same (largely good) education and that every child is educated on the atrocities of our history so that it (hopefully) can never happen again.
@RussellM__ @AGHamilton29 The West knew that some executions happened in these camps, but the full extend of the attrocities only was discovered when the camps where liberated by allied troops. Many soldiers were also traumatized by what they saw in the death camps.
@SKnipses@NekNamirrem @InsideIsraelNew @AGHamilton29 One of the many things to learn from this time is that when fascists tell you what they are going to do, belive them! Hitler wrote in great detail about his plans of east expansion in Mein Kampf back in 1925, but no one believed it until it was too late.
@NekNamirrem @InsideIsraelNew @AGHamilton29 Hitler and Stalin literally agreed on a pact dividing Poland up between the two countries. Stalin and Hitler were very close buddies up until Hitler decided to attack the UDSSR. The Soviets were completely suprised by that move, Stalin did not want to believe the news at first.
