Update on this little guy. He doesn't want food quite as often as he should but is doing so much better! Finally some muscle tone and good, healthy sheds. 🐍💪

Hedgehogs do need baths and this is the correct way to bathe them. Do not make them float or swim, it's stressful for them.

Bath time for a very good spiky boy 🦔

NEW: Corporate greed is killing pets and starving workers at PetSmart.

When the private equity firm BC Partners bought PetSmart in 2015, animal deaths more than doubled and working conditions plummeted.

Workers and elected officials are demanding change.

All lizards and tortoises/terrapins require calcium supplentation to prevent MBD. Many require an ultraviolet bulb as well. If you have interest in keeping these animals, study their care needs thoroughly and encourage others to do the same.

///Cw: sick animal

This leopard gecko has metabolic bone disease because her previous owner didn't bother doing proper research. MBD is common, life threatening and extremely preventable. Even if she survives, her leg and spine will never return to normal.

Leo spent about 2 minutes trying to figure this thing out. Then in typical ferret fashion he became more interested in the phone once I started recording..

@KaylasKritterz Exactly how I always put it! 👏
My bf is terrified of bugs but never once wished harm on my hissers or any cool insect I found. I show respect by not letting them get too close and he shows it by living and letting live. Coexisting isn't that hard.

[Serpentine Sanctum @snake_haven]

@LiliVicCreation @KaylasKritterz Congrats on taking steps to overcome it! That is one gorgeous creature <3

@lizdenn @PetSmart What do you have to say about this one, Pets Mart?

[Serpentine Sanctum @snake_haven]

@PetSmart @fizzystwt I recommend looking into the live animals being thrown out by your employees, firing them and pressing charges 👍 Take responsibility.

[🐝 @shellfishhater]

@PetSmart What do you have to say about the recent videos surfacing showing live animals being found in your dumpsters?

[Serpentine Sanctum @snake_haven]

@InGodIDoTrust They also test on animals. Ever read Flowers for Algernon? No side-effects for a few months doesn't mean side-effect-free.

[caareusa @CAAREUSA]

TAKE ACTION! Urge your Senators to support the FDA Modernization Act, which will eliminate the FDA's outdated requirement for animal testing in drug research. https://t.co/aTX2Wl7gNr

[caareusa @CAAREUSA]

In a laboratory the smallest #animals suffer in the greatest numbers. Their lives are nothing more than tools in a clinical world, but every little one is a sentient creature with a life they value and fight to keep. Research must move to modern methods and end the waste of life.

Yesterday I made the switch to bamboo toothbrushes. If you can find them locally they're around the same price as standard toothbrushes! I recommend them! 🌱
