Há quem diga que o modelo de Bitcoin Treasury Companies é ANTIQUÍSSIMO!
E que na Inglaterra do séc. XVII surgia uma empresa que compraria ouro e emitiria dívidas pra isso.
Ela é hoje o BANCO DA INGLATERRA!
Com a MSTR agora emitindo a sua PRÓPRIA moeda, qual a lição aqui?
🧵
MSTR just gorging itself on the obscene traditional market cap rates and transmuting it all into real value for shareholders.
Wall Street asleep at the wheel.
CFOs at trillion dollar companies like Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, etc. asleep at the wheel.
Berkshire Hathaway too busy talking about Candy companies for 30 years….
📢Wake the FU!
For my British and European friends who are "shocked" and "surprised", here are 10 reasons you didn't see this coming.
Read this short post and then read the replies from our American friends who will confirm what I'm saying.
1. Americans love their country and want it to be the best in the world. America is a nation of people who conquered a continent. They love strength. They love winning. Any leader who appeals to that has an automatic advantage.
2. Unlike Europeans, Americans have not accepted managed decline. They don't have Net Zero here, they believe in producing their own energy and making it as cheap as possible because they know that their prosperity depends on it.
3. Prices for most basic goods in the US have increased rapidly and are sky high. What the official statistics say about inflation and the reality of people's lives are not the same.
4. Unlike you, Americans do not believe in socialism. They believe in meritocracy. They don't care about the super rich being super rich because they know that they live in a country where being super rich is available to anyone with the talent and drive to make it. They don't resent success, they celebrate it.
5. Americans are the most pro-immigration people in the world. Read that again. Seriously, read it again. Americans love an immigrant success story. They want more talented immigrants to come to America. But they refuse to accept people coming illegally. They believe in having a border.
6. Americans are sensitive about racial issues and their country's imperfect history. They believe that those who are disadvantaged by the circumstances of their birth should be given the opportunity to succeed. What they reject, however, is the idea that in order to address the errors of the past new errors must be made. DEI is racist. They know it and they reject it precisely because they are not racist.
7. Americans are the most philosemitic nation on earth. October 7 and the pro-Hamas left's reaction shocked them to their very core because, among other things, they remember what 9/11 was like and they know jihad when they see it.
8. Americans are extremely practical people. They care about what works, not what sounds good. In Europe, we produce great writers and intellectuals. In America they produce (and attract) great engineers, businessmen and investors. Because of this, they care less about Trump's rhetoric than you do and more about his policies than you do.
9. Americans are deeply optimistic people. They hate negativity. The woke view of American history as a series of evils for which they must eternally apologise is utterly abhorrent to them. They believe in moving forward together, not endlessly obsessing about the past.
10. America is a country whose founding story is one of resistance to government overreach. They loathe unnecessary restrictions, regulations and control. They understand that freedom comes with the price of self-reliance and they pay it gladly.
A scenario:
Bitcoin price rise leads to increased mining and greater development of yet untapped energy resources, driving down the cost of energy, causing greater human flourishing despite rampant government money printing, which drives further demand for Bitcoin and the cycle continues.
Bitcoin goes to infinity. Humanity becomes a Type 1 civilization. Fiat money loses relevance as Bitcoin becomes the cornerstone of our economy as humanity enters a new era of unprecedented flourishing.
Maybe you should buy some Bitcoin.
The single most important concept to understand about #Bitcoin cycles
Chart jockeys spend all day drawing lines to try to predict Bitcoin tops.
Some are convinced it's all predictable and can fit nicely into a model.
Yes some models have worked in the past.
But they're just waiting to be broken.
At the end of the day it all comes down to supply and demand.
It sounds simple, but there are layers to this onion that are crucial to understand right now.
First, supply:
Supply is perfectly predictable with Bitcoin, right?
New coins every 10 minutes on a set schedule...
But the far more impactful supply source is existing hodlers bringing their coins to market when the price rises.
Despite what us perma-bulls write on X...
The vast majority of hodlers are happy to sell part of their stack if the price is right.
$1 million a coin? Here, take half my stack.
Once you reach a certain level of money, turning that money into real wealth (health, experiences, time with family, etc.) becomes more important than watching number go up.
So while it's true that no new supply can be created when the price rises - there WILL be a lot more coins for sale if the price gets high enough.
The key thing to remember is that the price only rises dramatically because hodlers are reluctant to sell.
They keep the supply restrained.
But once the hodlers start selling, the supply is no longer as restrained.
And the price will fall unless demand increases at the same time to maintain price equilibrium.
Make sense?
So some people say you should consider selling when long-term holders are moving coins that are deeply in profit.
But there's one other piece to consider: Demand.
This is the part that a lot of people will screw up.
They will underestimate demand for BTC and sell their bloodline's financial security to BlackRock for pennies on the Bitcoin.
Right now, we're at a highly unpredictable point in Bitcoin's history.
The institutional onramps just opened up.
The majority of the world's capital just got easy access to this asset.
Future demand for BTC is impossible to predict.
We cannot extrapolate from previous models because we've entered a completely different world.
The most important thing to remember is that Bitcoin is finite, and everyone needs it - they just don't know it yet.
Nation states need it.
Corporations need it.
Sovereign wealth funds need it.
Few people understand that we are one headline away from Bitcoin doubling in price overnight:
"Saudi Arabia announces strategy of buying Bitcoin with 20% of oil profits"
"Apple adopts MicroStrategy playbook - converts portion of USD treasury to Bitcoin."
"BlackRock issues guidance to corporations to convert portion of treasury to Bitcoin"
At this stage, demand for Bitcoin is largely driven by PERCEPTION of Bitcoin.
Any one of those headlines changes perception overnight and legitimizes Bitcoin even further in everyone's mind.
Not only would there instantly be more new demand from the people who realize they need Bitcoin...
But there'd be increased demand from hodlers - making them reluctant to bring their coins to market, driving prices even higher.
So the main point is this: Be careful with relying on models based on the past.
They are based on a time where only a fraction of global capital had access to Bitcoin.
And they are based on a perception of Bitcoin that is rapidly changing.
We are already seeing some long term holders that are in profit bring their coins to market.
But demand has never been this strong for Bitcoin.
And it could become MUCH stronger overnight with just one announcement by a major player.
It's entirely possible that demand for Bitcoin becomes strong enough to gobble up all the coins that long-term-holders could possibly sell.
We could watch coins move from OG Bitcoin hodlers to institutions, nation states, sovereign wealth funds, etc. in a single cycle.
Is this a supercycle?
You'll never hear me say that.
I think people will continue to sell when the price is right, and that will lead to price dips as always.
But how quickly those dips get eaten up could surprise us all.
Bottom line: Sell some Bitcoin if it gives you a better life, but don't expect to get it back during an easily predictable bear market.
All your models could soon be destroyed.
No, we should not bail out the investors, owners, bankers, OR the depositors! Do you think the value and the resources needed to cover a multi billion dollar insolvency comes out of nowhere?
This is the most dangerously stupid & cartoonish idea ever. YOU ARE STEALING FROM THE POOR, from everyone's standard of living, from the middle class who did *not* make a mistake. And it's not some esoteric, abstract theft either. It's real resources with real costs.
People have this crazy idea that prices just go up and this is natural and there's nothing we can do. You know what actually causes these prices to infinitely rise? The endless creation of debts, printing money, bailouts, ceaseless overconsumption, manipulation of financial markets via politics, and the constant propping up of investments and institutions that **consume more than they produce.** In short, THIS.
That's exactly what this is. The reason the gap for the poor keeps getting larger is because of THIS behavior, because of THIS mentality. Because of THIS response. When you say "oh think about the everyday depositors" you do so at the expense of those who saw their rent go up ANOTHER 20% this year. Who saw the price of food go up, who saw their wages stagnate, who *already* lost their job. They are the ones paying for your mistakes.
I am so, so sorry for the people caught up in this shitstorm, and I wish everything that it hadn't happened, but this will NEVER stop if we keep pretending there are no consequences and we dump the costs onto people who had no involvement whatsoever.
It's not make believe, you cannot wish it away. YOU are making people poor to pay for your mistakes. There is no free lunch. This is the apex of selfishness, that you would want others to pay the price in endlessly high living costs, in wages that constantly fall in value, in prices that never cease to skyrocket, that you would watch them struggle, watch them feel like life is meaningless & that they can never get ahead because everything will always get more expensive without ever stopping & why even try? Why produce? Why earn when it all gets taken anyway, when it never amounts to any genuine progress? Why not just dive head first into the political debt & consumption machine and just beg for a bailout when it goes wrong like everyone else?
I feel for those who will suffer from this. More than you probably believe. But I feel even more for those who are stuck in endless poverty, who never even have a chance, and when there is even a ghost of hint of prices being corrected, of the overconsumption being punished... they get kicked in the gut all over again to bail out Silicon Valley.
This lie can go on for decades, but eventually you run out of producers, eventually you get into a series of cascading debt bubbles and banking crises, eventually you find yourself in a place where the central bank doesn't respond to economic conditions, they actively and permanently manipulate everything about it. Because we purposefully engineered systemic fragility and corruption and let the real workers bail it out and prop it up over, & over, & over again. Today it might just seem like a depositor to a bank, or just a few investors, or one important bank, but the end of that road is the total destruction of our entire economic foundation.
You wonder why it feels like the world is falling apart? Why it feels like nothing is safe? Why it feels like we aren't making progress anymore? Why it feels like the US is a pathetic shadow of its former self? This is why.
Maybe you don't realize this is the truth of it, & you are not to blame for this. It is purposefully hidden by the politicians, corporate interests, & liars who profit most from it. It is understandable that you didn't know. But in hearing this, you *can* be faulted for ignoring something that you know is true, just because you wish it wasn't.
I wish there was a magic wand, but it doesn't exist.
