How can we help young people feel supported through art?
That was one question that stayed with our teaching artists after our recent Training of Trainers:
How can I do this better?
Better at listening.
Better at creating safe spaces.
Better at using art to support wellbeing.
Because as educators, we have a role to play.
And sometimes, it starts with simply being there.

When did teenagers stop posting pictures on Instagram? 😭 Everyone has 0 posts now. What happened to using Instagram as a little scrapbook of your life and actually keeping the memories?
There is excitement in the medical world after specialists at Mulago National Referral Hospital and the Neurosurgical Society of Uganda performed 80 successful complex brain surgeries at the weekend.

Pregnancy can kill her.
C-sections can scar her forever.
Postpartum can destroy her mentally. But sure, keep calling it “just nine months.” Your lack of empathy is terrifying.
parents are really trying. imagine just going about your day, then your child randomly calls asking for money you never planned to spend. whether it’s convenient or not, they still find a way to send it. It honestly isn’t easy at all.
This is when you really understand how scary postpartum depression can be for women…
Only parents truly get this.
If you’ve raised kids, you know exactly what this feels like.😔
When teamwork goes a little too far… 😂💛
Co-creation is one of our core values… but we might be taking it to #worldcup level. 😅
Every day, we support children and young people navigating complex psychosocial challenges.
That work takes heart, empathy, and a team that knows how to lean on one another.
So every now and then, we hit pause, laugh a little louder, compete a little harder, and remind ourselves that taking care of each other is part of the job too.
Because the stronger we are together, the better we show up for every child, every educator, and every community we serve.
Safe spaces don’t just happen for children, they begin with the people creating them. 💛
Now tell us… who do you think won this challenge? 😄👇

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got: If you want a calmer life, you need to address small problems while they’re still small. The cost of dealing with an issue rarely gets cheaper with time. Procrastination turns uncomfortable things into unavoidable things.
My relative once convulsed when she was pregnant. We rushed to a nearby medical centre. The attending doctor 'chased' us away to Naguru quickly for further mgt. At that time I didn't know how bad eclampsia could be. But right now I thank that man for making that decision quickly.
Sometimes referral is the best part of mgt. I hope every doctor out there knows that. Have a good week
Last week, we joined the Mental Health Awareness Camp at the @Parliament_Ug , convened by the @ugpfmh .
As we reflect on those conversations, we want to remind you why action now is our only option.
Psychosocial distress is affecting far too many children, and every day we delay is another day a child struggles in silence.
The time to act is not tomorrow. It’s today.
Swipe through to see why this conversation cannot wait. 💛

Every morning, thousands of children begin their day long before the sun rises.
They rush to school carrying heavy bags, tired minds, and bodies that haven’t had enough time to rest.
Yet we often wonder why they struggle to concentrate, regulate their emotions, or reach their full potential.
Children don’t need more pressure. They need more understanding.
❌ Waking up too early.
❌ Constant academic pressure.
✔️ Enough time to rest.
✔️ Enough quality sleep.
When parents, teachers, and caregivers understand what children truly need, and respond at the right time, in the right way, they create the conditions for children not just to succeed in school, but to thrive in life.
Every child deserves a childhood that makes growth possible, not exhaustion inevitable.
