If we ship FOCIL (EIP-7805), Frame Transactions (EIP-8141), Keyed Nonces (EIP-8250) and Recent Roots (EIP-8272) in Hegota, we get native, trustless, censorship resistant private transactions on Ethereum next year.
This weekend we launched EthLib, a Lean4 library for Ethereum!
The goal is to bring Ethereum's primitives, specifications and theorems into one place, building a shared foundation for formally specifying and proving things about Ethereum.
https://t.co/Tt1xpckV7h
it's an open q to be fair, benchmarking efforts have started but the tldr is: hopefully it can be cheap enough computationally for any mempool node to do it
one important thing is that it can be understood as: "aggregate as much as you can" and propagate every N seconds so naturally some nodes with more bandwidth and compute will propagate more than others
if it's just too expensive and we can't get decent throughput we'll either have to introduce new roles (e.g., aggregators) but I really hope we don't have to because that also probably means new incentives and we know how hard it is to get those right + less CR almost by definition if txn inclusion now depends on aggregators (by definition there would be less aggregators than mempool nodes)
The Cambridge workshops were the best events I’ve been to in years
Spectacular people, and a real sense that we’re accelerating towards post-quantum secure technology unlocked by AI and formal verification

New post: Exposing an ISA for post-quantum proofs on Ethereum
tldr: With EIP-8288, users can prove private, post-quantum transactions on their own devices, and Ethereum nodes verify those proofs outside the EVM.
Each proof should show that an app's program ran correctly, so Ethereum has to pick the instruction set (ISA) those programs run on and support it for as long as smart contracts depend on it.
The choice comes down to tradeoffs between proving speed, developer tooling, time to ship, and protocol complexity.
Which ISA should Ethereum pick?
Privacy apps on Ethereum face a looming quantum threat.
A compromised BN254 curve means forged proofs and stolen funds.
n a new EthResearch post, @soispoke outlines EIP-8288: a path to scalable, post-quantum proofs via an exposed Instruction Set Architecture (ISA). 🧵👇

announcing https://t.co/sfbS7zyUWS, a closed devnet based on frames-devnet-0 running a (half mocked) native rollup on top
a native rollup is an L2 that inherits L1's STF directly, greatly reducing complexity, governance and bug risks. here's how it works 🧵
1/ How I infiltrated a Chinese organized crime syndicate that has laundered $1B+ across multiple exploits for Lazarus Group.
Posing as a client, I gathered intel that helped action freezes for the Feb 2025 Bybit exploit and attribute illicit activity onchain.
Excited that zkAPI is out and live!
Great joint effort with @VitalikButerin on our initial design, @curryrasul and @kenziyuliu + OA team on implementation, and the amazing push from @VittoStack on the dAI team to bring this out.
If you want to implement private payments on Ethereum for your API, check the post and repo.
We have more things coming out to enhance user sovereignty and privacy in the age of AI.
Finally, FOCIL devnet-0. It took around 5 years to go from an insightful idea to an actual devnet. Advancing the most decentralized network takes a tremendous amount of work: exploring the design space to find a solution that solves the problem without sacrificing the properties Ethereum cares about, writing down the specification and building a prototype, iterating to improve the design, finding and handling edge cases, and the list goes on.
Just like being able to travel across a country using only cash, we sometimes take things for granted and forget that they might not be guaranteed. But we shouldn't. You should be able to do what matters most using only the protocol’s most basic functions.
FOCIL strengthens Ethereum as a freedom technology. It’s a big step forward but not a silver bullet. More features are in the pipeline.
@donnoh_eth all planned, the idea is to get a FOCIL + Frames devnet very early so we can make sure we figure out all the interactions
also FOCIL + Frames + privacy EIPs incoming
