Forced out of his home by the Khmer Rouge in 1975, Sokphal Din endured hard labour in the Killing Fields and eventually survived the genocide in #Cambodia by escaping to Thai refugee camps where he lived for seven years.

To commemorate and remembering the 17th of April, the day when the #Genocide, killing fields started in 1975. I couldn’t forget this day when all my family had been forced out of our house with guns pointed at us. This #atrocity is always staying in my mind forever.
"I still dream about my family, the jungle, the Killing Fields in Khmer, and the language of my youth. I tried to write about it in English but sometimes my words falter and fail me."
