@PhxAkin Well
At least not directly in this tweet ☺️
It’s okay for rivals to believe what they want
Banter as they wish
Set pieces, weak league, referees, dark arts, net spend etc
Nothing new really
Unlike before, we’re serious about football
Narratives will die one by one
@PhxAkin Same could be said for decisions that should have gone in Arsenal’s favour as well
Still don’t see the correlation between the UCL and EPL example you gave
Also difference between referee errors and cheating
Can understand it’s tough to accept banter era is over
@PhxAkin Simply that factors that existed in the CL penalties didn’t exist in the PL
So to imply foul play in not conceding any in the EPL is simply false equivalence
Choice? Fully fit/fit to start or fit to only play limited minutes aren’t the same
Excuses? Champions don’t need any
If you talk more about another club than your own, that club is bigger than your club.
If you need to borrow the success of other clubs to mock another club, that club is better than your club.
If you are living in the past, it is because you are uncomfortable with the present.
PSG faced probably the best Mid block/Deep Block they’ve ever had to experience and looked absolutely clueless even as the ‘best attack ITW’
But on a good day, that’s a Sunderland or Brentford setup on a sunny afternoon in the PL
That’s what Arsenal faces 80% of the time
@PhxAkin I think it is pretty simple
1 is from a universally agreed stupid rule only in UCL
1 from a heavily rotated back four which hardly happens in EPL
1 against a team with many touches in Arsenal box, which hardly happens in EPL
We see what we want to see
75% possession, but about 70% of it was just those four players in the blue triangle passing the ball among themselves, completely clueless about how to break Arsenal down 😂😂😂
99.9% human beings cannot fake the first reaction/response
Here Nunes' is clearly expressing fear of having made an egregious mistake, looking right at the authority
Arsenal were robbed and this was only one of the many egrogious decisions that went against us. But as bastian put it, you're only delaying the inevitable
Emmanuel Petit on Premier League clubs mocking Arsenal after the final defeat:
🗣️ “I have to say, I found it embarrassing.
The second Arsenal lost, some Premier League clubs couldn't wait to jump on social media and remind everyone about their European trophies.
That tells you everything.
Instead of supporting an English club representing the league on the biggest stage in club football, they were busy celebrating Arsenal's pain.
For me, that's not rivalry. That's insecurity.
Arsenal were 90 minutes away from doing something special, and rather than show respect, people were desperately searching through the history books for old trophies to post online.
Why? Because they were terrified of seeing Arsenal join that club.
Let's be honest, some of these clubs spent the entire season watching Arsenal compete at a level they couldn't reach.
The jealousy was obvious.
The moment Arsenal fell short, they treated it like they had won something themselves.
That's the mentality of people who would rather see Arsenal fail than focus on their own success.
The trophy may have slipped away, but the reaction from some rivals showed exactly how much Arsenal still live rent-free in their heads.”
Arsenal won the same amount of games (45) as Chelsea (26) and Man Utd (19) TOGETHER this season.
Stop getting rattled by fan bases who spend their whole season watching Arsenal fight for every title while their teams where playing for nothing since November.
All Competitions in 2025/26:
45 → Arsenal total WINS
32 → Arsenal Clean Sheets
28 → Liverpool total WINS
26 → Chelsea total WINS
19 → Man United total WINS
17 → Spurs total WINS
Tonight is the only night I will linger on this moment, but the biggest indicator of this being a penalty is the reaction of not only Neves but the culprit himself.
Clubs bantering Arsenal for losing to PSG on penalties after winning PL 🏆:
Chelsea — 8 : 2 on aggregate
Liverpool — 4 : 0 on aggregate
United — not even in the conversation
Funny how loud it gets from the wrong seats.
