@UhhhWelllUmm@KhalidovK92279@commonconcourse@terrenouvelle2 since you blocked me i am answering you here: you seem to be against prison abolition and pro prison reform, which is pretty much cassie pritchard's position. yet you choose to argue with the people defending her position. at least this is what i infer from your obtuse posts. 1/2
@UhhhWelllUmm@KhalidovK92279@commonconcourse@terrenouvelle2 i am specifically talking about people who kill other people here. how will you make sure that a murderer takes part in an education or job program instead of fleeing unless you run this program inside a prison?
@Skeleman71 i dunno man i did an essay about determinism and justice in high school (we were allowed to write about whatever we want) and even 16 yo me came to the conclusion that prison is still necessary because we live in a society
@RichardHanania@JTCoz at some point there IS a tradeoff. a purely GDP-maxxing society typically has a couple of insanely rich people and a majority of poor fuckers. these poor fuckers tend to, among other things, die earlier.
@sweetesttab000@mattyglesias@MattBruenig israel is about who rules the levant
ukraine is about who rules europe
taiwan is about who rules the pacific
this is about geopolitical importance, not cultural relevance among urban americans
