There was a time when the most winning dataviz tools (D3, ggplot, etc) were made by people deeply invested in data visualization. But today's winning tools are all made by people who have very limited data visualization ambitions.
@Corey_Yanofsky OPs argument seems to be that LLMs are a Chinese room and so can’t be conscious. Your criticism was our brains are also a Chinese room. But without knowing the physical events in the brain that give rise to consciousness I don’t think this is a real objection.
@Corey_Yanofsky@Strife212 That’s a cute response but you can’t map physical brain processes or events to human language generation in a one-to-one manner the same way Im guessing we can to LLMs
Massie’s loss is further proof that MAGA is mostly a cult. Massie simply held Trump to two of his campaign promises: fully release the Epstein files and no foreign wars. Massie was lock step with Trump until Trump broke campaign promises.
There comes a moment in every founder's life where you just love using your own product and can't stand using the less functional alternatives out there.
I love iterating with Inkstone (link in comments). Love it. It's so fluid for thinking, writing, brainstorming, researching, fact-checking, proofreading. All co-creatively.
Co-creative is the key. I don't want a pure black box running off and doing stuff without me and making crazy mistakes. I want AI to work with me. I want to see what the hell it's doing.
There are tools out there that try to do everything and so folks end up doing nothing. The market for feeling productive in 10x larger than the market for being productive but I don't care. I just wanted something to augment what I do all day, every day, which is think, plan, research, write, and iterate, so that's what I built.
Real work. Real workflow.
- Full rich doc editor
- AI edits and changes show up right in the doc
- Does deep research and web search
- Multiple models (Sonnet and Opus 4.6, GPT 5.2, more coming fast including Kimi and GLM)
- Threads
- Light and dark mode that's easy on the eyes
- Fact-checking
- Proofreading
- Fully feature reactive mobile version so I can work on the go and on the jon where ideas usually hit me
It's not perfect yet but it's already joy to work with, IMHO.
I'd love for you to give it a try. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Why is the homeowner in California paying 5x as much for a solar panel as the homeowner in Australia? Exact same solar panel, same technology, same brand, same inverter, same software.
I've started using LaTeX. It's great but I can see how someone can spend 20 hours a day on this thing and feel like they accomplished something when they've done nothing.
33-yo Thomas Jefferson enumerated grievances against a would-be authoritarian king over us. Among others were: 1. He has sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our People 2. He has excited domestic Insurrection among us 3. For quartering large Bodies of Armed Troops among us
