The @NYCMayor youtube channel no longer has the old pressers and streamed events from @ericadamsfornyc and @BilldeBlasio. This is critical for broadcast reporters who want to use archival sound and footage. It’s also NYC history. Please bring them back! @the_vello@anna_bahr
Being 43 is wild. People your age are living completely different lives.
Some are grandparents. Some are raising toddlers. Some are newly divorced. Some are newly engaged. Some haven’t slept in three years. Some are in St. Tropez posting Aperol spritzes from a yacht.
Some look 25.
Some look like they personally remember the invention of Tupperware.

@bluewmist Using a photo nutrition app to monitor fiber and protein intake. Weighing myself regularly to make sure I'm not gaining weight back. Using the glucose goddess hacks since I have PCOS. Actually taking my thyroid meds everyday. Focusing on adequate sleep.
@bluewmist Doing exercise snacks throughout the day, with 1 high impact cardio session and 3 hard lifting sessions throughout the week (15 minute dance and yoga classes on Peloton or 20 minute walks)...not just gym time. Doing stretching or dancing while watching TV.
This is the work that can’t be replicated by AI or pursued by a reporter with a Substack. It requires time - during which a reporter isn’t producing a lot of copy. Building trust with sources so you can tell sensitive stories, that’s a process that doesn’t scale.
"Nearly five years."
Investigative journalism takes years and years. The investment is immense, and always worth it, and, in the era of "hot takes" and ephemeral "content," rigorously reported journalistic work is needed more than ever. We must keep supporting investigative journalism.
