It’s interesting what parts of the Naylor article people focus on.

Assuming what’s written is true, and I have no reason to think otherwise, I have a slightly different perspective. Part of it I’m relieved about actually:

‘Brighton would not stand in his way if an opportunity arose… although they would also be happy if he stayed’.

So Welbeck’s minutes were going to be limited this season and they were transparent with him about it. Yet they were HAPPY for him to stay.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen many comments the past few months berating Hurzeler for not trusting Babis more. So that was what a lot of people on here wanted? It looks like Babis is being lined up for more game time.

I personally have no issue with that.

Though I would NOT have sold Welbeck personally.

But my reading is it sounds like it was down to the player who wasn’t happy having limited minutes.
