Out of 207 primary health care centres in conflict areas in #Lebanon, 100 are now closed due to the escalation of violence.
5 hospitals have shut as a result of structural damage following attacks.
The attacks on health workers and facilities, which have caused almost 100 deaths, must stop.
The number of people injured is increasing. The health system is struggling to cope due to limited human and resource capacity.
We call for the urgent protection of patients and health workers. We call for peace.
Northern #Gaza.
Two long weeks of intense Israeli Forces' airstrikes and ground operations.
Hundreds of Palestinians are reported killed, among them children.
More than 400,000 people continue to be trapped in the area.
The health system has all but collapsed.
We are not able to reach our teams due to telecommunications cuts.
The UN has not been allowed to provide any assistance, including food since 30 September. The two crossing points into northern Gaza have been closed since.
Jabalia camp has been hit the most, some 50,000 people were forced to flee. Basic services, including from @UNRWA, have been interrupted or forced to a halt including our @UNRWA health centre while only two water wells are operational.
Such attacks, the sabotage of civilian infrastructure and the deliberate denial of critical assistance continue to be used as a tactic by the Israeli Authorities to force people to flee.
Civilians are given no choice but to either leave or starve.
International Humanitarian Law is clear: people cannot be displaced by force, civilians should be protected at all times + given access to basic necessities should they choose to stay.
In Gaza, too many red lines have been crossed. What might constitute war crimes can still be prevented.
#CeasefireNow.
It is not too late to show courage & humanity.
The Israeli military & Government have provided six different explanations as to why a near-fatal airstrike took place on a residential compound in Gaza housing a joint @MedicalAidPal / @RESCUEorg Emergency Medical Team on 18 January.

Shocking footage shows unimaginable destruction in📍#Gaza city, including our health centre.
+70% of civilian infrastructure- including homes, hospitals & schools- have been destroyed or severely damaged.
84% of health facilities have been affected by attacks.
Nowhere is safe.
🚨The health and humanitarian disaster in #Gaza will reach catastrophic new levels if the Israeli military invades the city of #Rafah.
The international community must take urgent action to protect the more than one million people there.
Our statement: https://t.co/q77RTg75IY
Throughout the four-month conflict, Israel has told people to evacuate from all other areas of Gaza to the south, including Rafah.
Now, there is no place that is safe in Gaza and no way for people to leave. #ceasefirenow

The extreme suffering of the people of #Gaza demands that we respond immediately and concretely with humanity and compassion.

There are caretakers still inside the facility as well.
We urgently reiterate our calls to stop the attacks against hospitals and for the protection of medical facilities, medical staff, and patients.
"There is a patient who needs surgery. There is a patient who's already asleep in our department. We cannot evacuate ourselves and [leave] these people inside. As a doctor. I swear to help the people who need help."
- MSF Surgeon in Al-Shifa Dr. Mohammed Obeid
UPDATE: Over the last few hours, the attacks against Al-Shifa Hospital have dramatically intensified. MSF staff at the hospital reported a catastrophic situation inside just a few hours ago:

It's almost four weeks since the horrific terrorist attack on #Israel. A lot has happened, the public debate has become heated and confused. Find thoughts from Vice-Chancellor Robert #Habeck in the video, putting the events in context. 📣With English, Hebrew and Arabic subtitles.
David Lammy just claimed it can be "legally justified" to bomb a refugee camp in Gaza.
As a researcher of humanitarianism in the Middle East, can I please note that it is not "legally justified" to bomb a refugee camp? It is, in fact, wholly illegal.
“My dream was to deliver my baby at home, I don’t even have a mattress here.”

“It may be hard to understand why any of us are still at the hospital, running our resupply routes and struggling against a sea of despair,” Dr. Hussam Abu Safyia, who is at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, writes. “The answer is hope.” https://t.co/8ETsuhSGc8
Doctors Without Borders calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza
People who are wounded and sick must be able to receive medical care, and medical facilities and personnel must be protected and respected.

Reports of intense bombardment in Gaza are extremely distressing.
Evacuation of patients is not possible under such circumstances, nor to find safe shelter.
The blackout is also making it impossible for ambulances to reach the injured.
We are still out of touch with our staff and health facilities. I’m worried about their safety.
@WHO appeals to all those who have the power to push for a ceasefire to act NOW.
