8-band PEQ saved right on the dongle at $30 is wild, honestly that's the feature that matters most at this price. Curious how you set the bands on the U3, is the companion app any good? I'm working on Contour (https://t.co/ajbbddqR5Y), a free open-source Android app for keeping EQ profiles on your phone and pushing them to the dongle. U3 isn't supported yet but I'd love to add it.
@Im_IrushiK Mostly high for regular reaserch, coding.
Medium for quicker easier tasks.
ExHigh for all long running sessions (longer than two hours). Max only if I get frustrated by bad results.
Overall high has been a sweet spot for me.
You can see my work here: https://t.co/ajbbddqjgq and https://t.co/PPc25LoBtx
It's very niche but people actually like it and use it!
Right now I'm making a "lab" for testing dongle DACs that will improve my workflow of adding support for them to my contour app. It's been really fun and I love it.
Most of the stuff I make can bee seen here: https://t.co/fwXQyb6DRv
@oldstackjournal Hello! In may I started coding stuff with Claude Code. At first websites for our marketing agency, small audio review website, just to learn the tools and workflows.
I'm really into audio so this is where my focus is. Now I'm making android apps for EQ creation and management 🧵
@zekramu I don't get it. For me getting the app/website to look how I want is half the fun of it... We have a power of creation through imagination! It's a dream come true, right?
Hi JCALLY! The Carly edition looks amazing. I make Contour (https://t.co/ajbbddqR5Y), a free, open-source Android app that keeps EQ profiles on your phone and sends them to your DAC. It’s only 3 weeks old and already has 200+ users. I’d love to support the JM98MAX2 and its 5-band EQ, and add all JCALLY dongles to my catalog at https://t.co/BAJpuyF5no. Could we talk by email or DM?
Nice writeup. The Coda being that small and still having both 3.5 and 4.4 is wild. The web EQ only working in Chrome/Edge is the part that always bugs me with these though, especially on a phone. I'm working on Contour (https://t.co/ajbbddqjgq), a free open-source Android app that keeps your EQ profiles on the phone and sends them to the dongle. No Coda support yet, but I'd love to add it.
Have a great day!
@TANCHJIM_CN Hey TANCHJIM! The KASIER + SPACE II combo looks great. I'm making Contour (https://t.co/3q19hK7G2O), a free, open-source Android app for managing EQ profiles on the go, and I'd love to support the SPACE II. Would you like to help with that?

When I was writing Unreal Engine 1, my time was divided as follows:
- Around 30% went to seriously deep coding on hard problems: assembly language texture mappers, C++ BSP trees, data persistence, object oriented systems design, and networking.
- Around 70% was just typing and refactoring large bodies of code needed for a complete engine feature set. This was not hard, and while I was doing it my mind was mostly on the deeper coding topics, thinking and planning for what's next. It didn't feel much different from vibe coding today, except that it was just me typing code on an IBM Model M keyboard rather than prompting it and reviewing the results.
So, it has always seemed perfectly logical that we would rely on AI for that 70%, once the AI could do it with a similar quality standard as we could, which has never been perfection. It came as no surprise that, after a few years of AI model evolution, it was able to take the reigns on that 70% and free up programmers' time for more valuable tasks.
What's more of a surprise is the emergence of AI as a sort of insta-Carmack able to solve hard technical problems quite cleverly and often cleanly, and that it's able to reason about and work in complex 3D scenes both by operating the tools and by directly understanding the raw data files.
I abandoned assembly language in 1998 when out-of-order CPUs made much simpler C/C++ code faster, and never I missed it. If prompting through architectural documents, concept art, and design plans can transcend typing code and tweaking vertices, that will enable developers to spend their time on higher-level, higher value technical and creative tasks.
What matters is the end product, whether it's a game or an engine. Anything developers can do to try out more ideas and make better software and games faster is a win for everyone.

Android Police tried EQ Sweep on their Pixel Buds 🎧
"might be the best equalizer implementation I've found"
You find the peaks and dips by ear with a sine sweep, then fix them with real EQ bands. It's still in closed beta, and joining takes a few minutes 👇
Made a free, open source EQ app for USB DAC dongles on Android. Works with Protocol Micro/Max, FiiO KA15, K13 R2R, SnowSky Melody and Tiny A, more coming soon.

Can I get some love from the algoritm gods?
@RaimundoE96 After joinning the e-mail or google group and appling for the beta users somtimes can't download the app. It takes up to 2h for some to appear in Play store.
You can write about it upfront, so the users don't get confused about it.
