THIS is what we need from our clergy.
@BishopBurbidge is urging Catholics in Virginia to vote NO on two ballot initiatives threatening the sacredness of human life and the sanctity of marriage.
Being against the violence of abortion and for marriage is not optional for followers of Christ!
We need more Christian leaders willing to say that clearly, boldly, and repeatedly from the pulpit.
Thank you, Bishop Burbidge, for shepherding the faithful with courage.
This is a foolish constitutional amendment proposal. We already have a maxed out rainy day fund and have run the largest surpluses in state history.
Any additional revenue should be used for lower taxes, including assisting local governments with grants so that homestead properties can be exempt from local property tax. Surplus revenue could also be used to remove tolls once the property tax issue is settled.
I recommend a NO vote.
It was great to see so many foreigners enjoy themselves in the US and have positive reactions to Americans.
But some of this was sad because it was clear that many had absurd preconceived notions due to mass media in their countries, especially in Europe.
Like Mark Twain said, those who don’t read newspapers are uninformed; those who do are misinformed.
For four straight years Florida has reduced its budget.
Rainy debt fund has been more than tripled since 2019.
52+% of taxpayer-supported state debt will have been eliminated under this new budget.
During my tenure we vetoed almost twice as much spending as was done over the previous twenty years.
The state maintains a AAA credit rating across all major rating agencies.
It can be done!
Finalizing budget review/vetoes and I can report:
FY 26-27 will be the fourth straight year that Florida has reduced its budget.
Rainy day fund = full (and more than triple the size from 2019).
The budget represents 44% of the size of the budget of New York (the state closes to FL in population, with NY having between 3 and 4 million fewer residents).
The chairman of the party should not be insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. A debate was promised and these ridiculous criteria are being used to renege on that promise and to engineer a preferred outcome.
Why not just take 90 minutes, find a tv partner, and let the candidates mix it up?
The only reason why you wouldn’t is if the party hierarchy is serving outside interests instead of the best interests of the voters.
🚨NOW: Gov. Ron DeSantis pushes back on Florida GOP debate restrictions, saying party officials shouldn't decide who gets on stage.
@GovRonDeSantis: "I wouldn't have qualified in 2018. It's counterproductive when you try to engineer an outcome."
NEW: Ron DeSantis comes out swinging at @FloridaGOP over lack of debate in gubernatorial election:
“They said they were going to do a debate. They didn’t put out the criteria publicly. I don’t think the RPOF ever voted on any type of criteria.”
“I’ve heard secondhand what the criteria was. I wouldn’t have qualified when I ran in ’18 for what they were trying to do.”
“And so, it’s counterproductive when you try to engineer an outcome, because you need a coalition of voters to do well.”
My wife was 22 and I was 23 when we married. We eventually had 8 children.
Our 20s were marked by Boomer generation “advisors” at the grocery store, events, restaurants, and stores WARNING us not to have more children. They openly pitied us for having 3+ children. Boomer women thought my wife was being oppressed by her husband. At an Outback, a man openly told me “I feel sorry for you for having those kids.”
Many Boomers were brainwashed to perceive having children “as a bad thing.” Worst of all, they felt empowered to insult a young couple in the presence of our children.
Meanwhile, these people were in favor of importing the entire Third World into America for the sake of GDP. What a strange moment in American history.
Due to the @SpiritAirlines bankruptcy travelers are trapped around the US.
People showed up to the airport to fly this morning. Cancelled.
Workers showed up for their shift. Now jobless.
My family member paid for a flight. Now they won’t be reimbursed.
We must call out @SenWarren and the Communists who are responsible for this.
@JetBlue tried to buy Spirit for billions under the Biden admin 2024.
Democrats blocked it.
Spirit Airlines died tonight at the hands of the socialist crusader, Elizabeth Warren
She must be so proud to add another casket to her achievements.
Tonight at 3am, Spirit turns off the lights. 14,000 jobs gone. 30+ smaller airports lose service.
JetBlue offered $3.8 BILLION in cash to buy Spirit in 2022. Shareholders, flight attendants union, literally everyone voted yes.
The combined company would have held 9% of the US market against a Big 4 that already owned 80%.
For anyone who understands numbers: 9% isn’t a monopoly against 80%.
Warren said no.
She wrote letters. She pressured Buttigieg. Biden’s DOJ sued. A federal judge killed the deal in January 2024.
Her argument: the merger would cost consumers $1 billion a year.
Now look at her collateral damage she dusts under the rug.
510 pilots gone in the months after. 1,800 flight attendants furloughed in December.
14,000 jobs in 2023. 7,500 last week. Zero tonight.
And that’s just the people in Spirit uniforms.
Catering goes. Fuel guys go. Baggage crews, gate agents, airport coffee shops, hotels and rental cars in 70 cities Spirit flew to. Every airline job carries 3 more on its back.
40,000 people out of work because of one woman’s moronic crusade against the market.
And the math ain’t mathing.
Spirit abandoned 90 routes during the death spiral. Fares on those routes are up 14% on average. Oakland to Newark: $135 to $288. Fort Myers to San Juan: $92 to $219. Kansas City to Newark up 66%.
That’s reality. Not some BS number from a “study.”
So @SenWarren tell me how this saves the consumer money?
Cheap carriers in a market drop fares 21% across the board. Southwest did this in the 90s and saved Americans $68 BILLION over 20 years.
Warren killed it. That’s what moronic politicians led by socialism do.
Then with her own blind arrogance, she tweeted Spirit’s collapse is “a Biden win for flyers.”
A win.
14,000 people are reading termination letters tonight.
And she’s taking credit.
This is socialism in 2026.
A senator who’s never made payroll thinks she knows how to run a market better than the people who own and work in the company.
She saved you a billion on imaginary paper.
She cost you ten times that in real life.
She didn’t protect consumers from anything.
14,000+ will go from working to welfare.
She will make sure to blame billionaires, hardworking tax payers, AI, capitalism and whatever monster they will make up tomorrow hiding under your bed.
Higher taxes. Fewer jobs. More expensive everything.
She called it a win. I hope you enjoy winning.
Annual reminder that Karl Marx’s only positive contribution to the world was to feed the worms with his bloated, rotted corpse.
He refused to bathe, work, or at all provide for his family, preferring instead to sponge off of Engles.
He slept with his servant, refused to take accountability for the resulting child, and his family was so miserable that his daughter later killed herself.
Inexcusable.
Florida has the right to ban mifepristone from being sold via mail in Florida. Tha administration should not be going to court to stop us, that's the antithesis of pro-life.
I have confidence that our great Attorney General, @JamesUthmeierFL will fight for life here.
The crying about @alexathallow is insane.
The people at Hallow created a program that makes it easier for people to pray. That’s it.
As a priest who hears over 10 hours of confession a week, I can joyfully tell you that it bears great fruit for people.
To create the app and set it up and coordinate took a huge investment of manpower and technological skills.
They charge for it because they have a right to their wage. They did something no one has done as well as them and the fruits show.
I don’t use Hallow, I’m not getting paid by them, I’m just tired of watching people tear apart those who are doing their best to advance the kingdom of God.
If you don’t like what they’re doing, get off your couch and do something better.
Otherwise, stop this nonsense. There is nothing about it that shows the fruits of the spirit, but I see a lot of the fruits of the flesh in the attacks.
DeSantis' grew up in Dunedin Florida, went to Yale on merit from a baseball scholarship where he excelled. He graduated with High Honors. Based on that merit, and a year as a history teacher, he was accepted to Harvard law which he also graduated with honors. Following Harvard, he went immediately into service for the United States Navy as a Jag officer where he fulfilled his commitment and was honorably discharged in 2010. He returned to Florida still a conservative to his core. He joined the Tea Party movement and wrote a book, Dreams of our Founding Fathers, which detailed the differences between Obama era policies and the Founding Fathers design for America. In 2013, Florida sent him to Washington DC where he did not lose his soul or his conservative principles. He rose to prominence as a founding member of the Freedom Caucus. After just barely winning his first gubernatorial election DeSantis did not govern like a squishy Republican, afraid to annoy nearly half of the Florida electorate who voted for a Democrat. DeSantis governed as a constitutional conservative with the principles found in the Federalist papers, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution as his guide.
No Ron DeSantis has never been "establishment." Instead he has proven that those founding principles, once actually applied, truly work, even in a modern era.
DeSantis isn't known as America's Governor because he came up with new ideas that were popular. His success is not measured by the growth of Florida's bureaucratic establishment. He is America's Governor because he took old ideas, from the minds that founded our nation, and reminded America that liberty and small government still works.
I want to express my strong support for the statement that Bishop Kevin Rhoades made this morning concerning a controversial appointment at the University of Notre Dame. Please read his communication in full, for he makes the case more completely and eloquently than I could. Suffice it to say that the woman proposed for a key leadership position at Our Lady’s University is not simply “pro-choice” on the question of abortion; she is a sharp critic of the pro-life position and those who advocate it. She has gone so far as to characterize the anti-abortion stance as rooted in white supremacy and racism, and she has insinuated that the Catholic commitment to integral human development implies the support of abortion rights.
Like Bishop Rhoades, I speak as someone with strong connections to and deep affection for the University of Notre Dame. I believe that going ahead with this appointment is repugnant to the identity and mission of that great center of Catholic learning.

@JustinWStapley LoL, you can go through all the mental gymnastics you want. It has nothing to do with Bad Bunny being PR. It has to do with his music being trash. Just like Kendrick Lamar.
If people find Kid Rock more appealing that just shows how niche BB music is. And I'm Hispanic.
