@epistemophagy Itβs worth remembering that these statues were not based on real people but the mythological figure Hermaphroditus. His body looks like this as the result of a nymph trying to rape him. Those looking for less derogatory myths might like that of Iphis and Ianthe or Tiresias.
@CoyoteProjects@dollshojo Yes it is. The word rape can be modified by different words, like many other words in English. Op is talking about coercive rape, you are talking about gang rape. Rape is simply the act of having sex with someone without their freely given consent.
@medecko@enbykeef@doublegee___ I have yet to see an instance where this was claimed and the βoriginalβ color photo provided was not just a colorization of a b&w photo.
@enbykeef@doublegee___ Thatβs not true. Even after the advent of color photography, many photographers (such as newspaper photographers or those on a budget) shot with b&w instead of color. Newspapers especially bc there is no reason for a photo that will be printed in b&w to be shot in color
@DrBrianReid@eugenejohnson_ And does everyone want to be a CEO? God forbid a student want to go in a field where they actually have to work hard and know prerequisite information
@Mister_slitty@agraybee The Iliad was written in ~800-700 BCE. Plato and Aeschylus were writing in ~500-300 BCE. Unless you donβt think classical Athens should be considered Ancient Greece I think you should do some more research
