I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
Some people are just...living. They're not dating anyone. No crush. No one waiting for their texts. They scroll endlessly from app to app with no one to talk to, then go to work, come home, eat, sleep, and repeat it all again the next day.
“He has childhood trauma.” So do I.
“He’s under a lot of pressure at work.” So am I.
“He’s just overwhelmed.” Me too.
The only difference is that we excuse men’s behavior, and shame women for not carrying it.
