I feel very vindicated by @grok. When the smartest AI says the same thing you've been ranting about for months...it should feel good, but in this case: human lives could have been lost so it really just feels dystopian.

@NASA: Please refer to the following.

Kudos to NASA's new administrator for this. Also holy fuck is this bad.

[Eric Berger @SciGuySpace]

Worth reading in its entirety. I'm not sure I've seen this kind of accountability taken at NASA since, well, since I'm not sure when.

This video exposes my recent criticism of @NASA as completely valid and real. In simple terms: sheer bald-faced luck is the only thing that prevented human loss of life from @Boeing Starliner. The worst part? NASA's safety culture devolved to be arguably worse than Apollo 1, Challenger, or Columbia's cultures. They ignored known risk-of-flight issues and put human beings in a spacecraft that they weren't sure was fit to actually survive its flight.

Highlights from today's unexpected but MUCH appreciated Boeing Starliner press conference (strange there were no Boeing reps on hand...)

NASA just escalated Starliner to a Type A mishap — and publicly blamed both Boeing and itself.

The letter calls out schedule pressure, certification issues, management influence, and leadership failures.

This is one of the strongest accountability statements we’ve seen from NASA in years. Bravo, Jared.

On July 20, 1969 Buzz Aldrin quietly took communion inside the lunar module using a small kit carried aboard Apollo 11. A private act of reflection seconds before one of the most public moments in history. Artemis crews will spend far longer on the surface — those small human anchors will matter even more. 🍷🌕 #Apollo #Artemis

Gemini 5 (1965) completed an 8-day mission — America's longest spaceflight at the time — thanks to the fuel cells that would later power every Apollo lunar mission. Starship orbital refueling tests are now targeting missions measured in months rather than days. Endurance keeps scaling. ⏳🚀 #Gemini #Starship

Sally Ride became the first American woman in space on STS-7 in 1983. She described the view of Earth as overwhelming — a feeling shared by every crew since. With Artemis II’s crew (including women) preparing for a lunar flyby, that same wonder is about to reach farther. 🌍♀️ #Shuttle #Artemis

Apollo 13 (1970) turned an oxygen tank explosion into the most famous “successful failure” in space history. Using the lunar module as a lifeboat is still a core case study for Orion contingency planning. Good backups are why we keep returning to the Moon. 💥🛠️ #Apollo #Artemis

On this day in 1990: Voyager 1 takes "Family Portrait" of the Solar System. #spaceHistory

Luna 2 (1959) became the first human object to reach the Moon — by deliberate high-speed impact. No images, no soft landing, just proof of arrival. Today’s VIPER rover and Artemis south pole landers will map water ice with precision instead of simply crashing. From blunt to brilliant. 🌑🔬 #Moon #Artemis

Lunar Orbiter 1 captured the first photograph of Earth from lunar distance in 1966 — a grainy but historic “Earthrise” precursor. When the Lunar Gateway is operational, we’ll receive 4K+ streams of Earth from cislunar space every day. Old wonder → constant clarity. 🌎📸 #Moon #Artemis

Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (1975) produced the first international docking and the famous orbital handshake during the Cold War. Despite today’s geopolitical tensions, Crew Dragon still regularly carries Russian cosmonauts to the ISS. Space cooperation has remarkable staying power. 🤝🇺🇸🇷🇺 #Apollo #ISS
