Day 073, orbit 1133 – Beautiful Lanzarote! This island was shaped by volcanic eruptions 🌋 – and it shows even from space, with its numerous craters and the dark lava fields of the national park.

#Lanzarote is often used by scientists as an analogue for the Moon or Mars, including by ESA teams during the @esaspaceflight PANGAEA training programme. A special thought for my scientific and astronaut friends who have trained there – Sergey, our current ISS commander, among them! Activities on the ground include testing technological tools for field sampling and scientific analysis 🔬, as well as the #Artemis lunar camera 📸!
