BROKEN - word for how we feel this week, as we get scored for our jobs in @SociologyGold + 10 other departments.

[Nirmal Puwar @spatialmutation]

Now we have very different diaries of living with the shock created to our collective, bodies and psychic states by the creation of a 'crisis' by management, depletion through restructure 1 and a hostile environment.

[Les Back @AcademicDiary]

The new print of Academic Diary… is a very beautiful thing even better than the first printing of the book. Poignant arriving the week that the Goldsmiths redundancy notices will be issued. The book is like a love letter to higher education before the break up.

[Nirmal Puwar @spatialmutation]

horrendous situation of disregard from on high, when the students and colleagues are saying no, no, no...

[Nirmal Puwar @spatialmutation]

A wonderful connecting audience @jaagcollective yesterday, for dementia and music. It always takes me a while to tune back into this urgent way of Striking a Chord, with @maiopatti

Thoughts of solidarity with friends and colleagues at goldsmiths this week as they await the outcome of this hatchet job.

@aaronzwinter @StuartHallAP @IDjnl @KirsteenPaton @AcademicDiary @____montel @NasarMeer had no idea this was on, can't see what's on for the uni anywhere...

[Goldsmiths UCU @GoldsmithsUCU]

Current plans to reduce staffing in the historic @SociologyGold by as much as *HALF* risk “reducing it to a corpse fit only for autopsy.”

Damning words of solidarity from Professor Les Back @AcademicDiary 🙏

Food Sovereignty across Latitudes at @CovCathedral
26 June, 6-9pm. Tea, films and panel discussion, part of our Global Ecologies series, with @Tilley101 Muna Dajani and led by Georges Felix.

Another wonderful collaboration with @the_pod_cafe @food_union

[Des Freedman @lazebnic]

A key justification for sacking 130+ staff @GoldsmithsUoL is that staff costs are way above the sector average that the College insists is 43% acc to HESA. Except that HESA says the average is 51%. Management wouldn't want to exaggerate would they? @goldsmithsucu #NotADoneDeal
