@Andr6wMale I feel almost certain as to which record shop this is and if it’s not then it definitely could have been on almost any weekend. But I always have a lot of affection and amusement about what is essentially two blokes talking to each other with microphones.
@rocking_bob@CherryRedGroup Any excuse to link to this performance on YouTube with an unexpected Lucifer in the first few lines https://t.co/DVQT8PhMGw
@rcscribbler I thought it might have been some sort of ‘house style’ of the production company or Sky Arts. A couple of other docs on there have the same sort of thing eg Kinks Village Green which has filmed inserts of an actor staring thoughtfully at a village green
@JonD_Chadwick Yup, me too! Probably ‘86. Foolishly I sold it in the early 00’s when I thought I didn’t want to keep vinyl. Had to buy an equivalent a couple of years ago
@JonD_Chadwick Not at all! And very happy to find out.
Not related but Carmen is making forays into Indian music - I guess classical music -starting off with Ravi Shankar. Our baseline knowledge is low but I’m sure you will have a lots of pointers whenever you have a mo
@Andr6wMale I first listened to Who Sell Out when I was about 7 and it’s a perfect LP for kids and story songs - Odorono, Tattoo, Silas Stingy and the epic tragedy of Rael plus the bang flash of all the jingles

@RealNickForeman Looks like a ‘69 repress - but knowing the history of your records is always worth more. Vinyl looked in pretty poor shape so only £3 - but a good clean and it’s now playing like mint and feeling pretty good about itself.
New birthday purchase - Best of Bee Gees from 1969. Lots of Bee Gees visibility right now with the @rocking_bob book out. This is the best £3 I’ve ever spent.
@Andr6wMale Many people linking the burning down to the merits of a glass building. I would like to check the alibi of the person, and their descendants, who failed to get the commission for the design of the Great Exhibition. This has sustained disgruntlement written all over it.
New birthday treat purchases - Barracudas and Summer Fun 7”. Perhaps best known for being one of the few acts to go down in the charts after appearing on TOTP, this is still a gem. I can’t pronounce Baccarruda.
