I walked the full length of Dollis Brook just over a week ago. It's no longer a river nor even a brook, destined to now be nothing more than a drainage ditch for a considerable slice of north London. ๐คฌ
@KTTunstall Watch KT Tungstall at the Purbeck Folk Festival in Dorset in an old barn, with hay on the floor and my three and four year old daughters standing on the stalls so that they could see her. It was utterly memorable and my daughters still mention it.
@RogersHistory Absolutely, happened to me as I was leaving for the interview. Absolutely horrendous and both heads should be utterly ashamed but Iโm sure they are not. What can we possibly do though? I feel the structure of education employment has made teachers powerless.
If OFSTED grade a school outstanding where there is clear evidence of toxic/unlawful practices, they are wilfully ignoring this, and therefore wilfully ignoring the welfare of teachers. They donโt care about teachers, only so called โexcellenceโ achieved by any means necessary.
@TLPMrsL I think she is, unsurprisingly, showing no empathy whatsoever. Her comments completely illustrate her lack of ability for her job. Young people need support at the stage in life they are at. Not difficult to understand.
@PastoralKaty @MrH_Newcastle No, other countries have longer holidays in the summer and clearly no detriment to learning. Children need a break from the relentless structure of school. Especially in the awful educational system we have in the UK.
If a group of teachers, students and researchers sat down and tried to devise the best form of education for 14-18 year olds with assessment built in, no one would come up with GCSEs and A-levels as the answer.
@tes@NickGibbUK Why is Nick G making any comment on areas he clearly has no knowledge of, or genuine interest in? Any parent or teacher is fully aware of the impact the pandemic had and continues to have on children. All the current government wants is headlines!
โWe hope that the public sees this for what it is - utterly unreasonable. We have asked SoS to return to the negotiating table, to publish the STRB report, & to guarantee every school has the money needed to fund pay awardsโ: my comments โฆ@ASCL_UK:โฉ https://t.co/iSXv4pGj1g
@dave_mcpartlin Ofsted needs to be a critical friend, supportive and informed. It needs to lose distrust of teachers (coming into teaching from a different career, this is ridiculous and not something I have experienced before) and change its abrasive approach, desiring only to catch schools out
This lady has just spent 2 mins absolutely eviscerating the Conservatives on their record on EVERYTHING ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป #BBCQT
โ Iโm staggered that you think youโre succeedingโฆ
Watch and listen!
Amanda Spielman yet again says that @Ofstednews are not to blame for stress and pressure on Headteachers & other staff, causing them to leave the profession.
So I ask again:
Does Ofsted contribute to HTs and others wanting to leave the profession? Please RT for a bigger sample.
