@elonmusk@kylaschwaberow Yup. In this case, the driver manually overrode self-driving by pressing the accelerator all the way to 100% of the accel pedal in this residential area. They reached a speed of 73 mph during the crash, and had the accelerator pressed even after the crash.
@elonmusk
Elon,
My husband Ted and I share this X account, and we’ve posted together many times. But today I wanted to write to you personally, from my own heart.
I want to thank you for creating tools that help me learn something new every single day, that make my life better, and that actually make me excited to live longer — because your inventions keep getting more amazing.
I was born in 1942 in Normandy, France, under German occupation. In 1946, my family moved to the coast along the English Channel. So many towns and villages had been damaged or destroyed. As children, we played among the old bunkers and in cemeteries. Later in life, I married an American airman, moved to the United States with him, earned a doctorate in education, and spent my career teaching languages.
Now I’m 84 years old, retired, and living in Alaska with my husband of 64 years. Not long ago I discovered you and your work. We recently bought a Cyberbeast, and I love everything about it — the comfort, the incredible technology, and especially FSD, which we use every day. We even installed a Starlink dish on our roof so we have reliable internet everywhere in Alaska.
I use Grok every single day. Thanks to you, I’m now learning about AI itself — at 84! I also use X daily because it lets me see what’s really happening in the world, without media filters or propaganda, and connect with people from every corner of the globe.
Instead of living in the past and reminiscing about the “good old days,” I wake up every morning excited to see what new invention or breakthrough you’re working on and what the future will bring.
Thank you, Elon, from the bottom of my old heart.
You’ve made this 84-year-old woman feel young and hopeful again. ❤️
Françoise
Here we are with our new Cyberbeast !

SpaceX - Governance #12
Caution: I’m going very wild here — lots of speculation ahead.
This builds directly on my earlier article: https://t.co/hvgfuR2Kjw
In post #11 I laid out the lock-up schedule for early SpaceX investors and why it suddenly matters a lot for index funds. The structure is clearly designed to give passive funds a smoother on-ramp while protecting the company from an immediate share flood.
Key dates when “fresh stock” can hit the market (assuming IPO priced June 11 → first trade June 12, 2026)
- Late July 2026 (after Q2 earnings) → up to 30% can unlock (20% base + possible extra 10% if stock trades ≥30% above IPO price)
- Aug 21 → +7%
- Sep 10 → +7%
- Sep 25 → +7%
- Oct 12 → +7%
- After Q3 2026 earnings → up to additional 28%
- Oct 25 → +7%
- Dec 9 → all remaining Early Release Eligible Shares
At the rumored $1.75 trillion market cap and only $75 billion offered, the initial public float is just ~4.3%.
During the first ~15 trading days (until around July 6–7), there is no additional liquidity beyond the IPO shares themselves. That is exactly when SpaceX becomes eligible for Nasdaq-100, FTSE Russell, and CRSP inclusion.
The first meaningful increase in “fresh stock” from early investors does not arrive until late July 2026 (after Q2 earnings). Even then, the three major indices (Nasdaq-100, FTSE Russell, CRSP) only adjust their float weights at the next quarterly rebalance in September 2026.
So index funds will start buying in in June up to early July with an extremely low ~4.3% float, and the full benefit of the extra liquidity will only show up weeks later in September.
S&P 500 inclusion is even further out but potentially the major event:
On April 30, 2026, S&P Dow Jones Indices launched a consultation on special rules for MegaCap companies (SpaceX qualifies at $1.75 tn). The proposal would shorten the seasoning period from 12 months to 6 months, waive the minimum 10% public float (IWF) requirement, and drop the profitability test.
If approved (consultation closes May 28 and could take effect as early as June 8), SpaceX could become eligible for S&P 500 consideration around December 2026 — by which time the public float will have increased substantially thanks to the July 30% release, the multiple 7% staged releases, the Q3 earnings release, and the final December 9 release of all remaining Early Release Eligible Shares.
Bottom line on timing:
The passive buying impact would likely be spread over three distinct moments in 2026:
- End of June / early July → Nasdaq-100, FTSE Russell, and CRSP inclusion (limited by the tiny initial float)
- September → rebalance with the now-higher float for those three indices
- December → potential S&P 500 inclusion with much larger available float
And don’t forget the wildcard: if a hypothetical Merger of Equals with Tesla happens, S&P would simply "overwrite" Tesla and add the surviving combined entity at deal close. Index funds wouldn’t have to sell Tesla and wait — they would mechanically buy the additional SpaceX shares issued to Tesla shareholders. The transition would be seamless and bring meaningful passive buying support much earlier.
In my article (link above) I quantified the float impact as follows:
@teslascope Appreciate the response. That would be my only noticeable observation. Upon Reverse engagement this message pops up “camera temporarily unavailable “ for about 2 seconds.
Hi, I have an 3 pole generator panel at home with 50a. I’d like to power the home with my CyberTruck but wasn’t able to find any documentation on whether or not the 240v receptacle is bonded or not?… any chance you could help? Thank you!
@Teslarati@wmorrill3@cybertruck@Tesla
After seventeen incredible years, my latest chapter at Tesla has come to a close. Words won’t do justice to how fulfilling the experience has been, but I’ll try anyway:
Tesla barely survived Christmas 2008. I started a few days later in our Finance team, under an ongoing “Tesla Deathwatch”. I slept under my desk in San Carlos, CA at least once, and I wasn’t the only one. There are many companies with hard-working and talented employees, but few have the level of commitment and collaboration of the Tesla team. In retrospect, this should have been an obvious predictor of the successes that would follow. This is as true today as it was in 2009.
To my former Finance team: You are heroes within a company full of heroics, given the full-body workout that is your daily job. Take an Accounting or Finance textbook off the shelf and flip to a random page - Tesla is undoubtedly manifesting the underlying concept in the real world. From selling hardware and software under various business models, managing assets of all types (including digital ones), to pursuing continuous investment into an ambitious future throughout the world, you make the impossible look easy.
To my colleagues across the rest of the company - I am grateful for the time that you have spent to educate me, including during my stints outside of the Finance team. You have started with one of Tesla’s strongest advantages - the strongest talent across engineering, manufacturing/operations, and customer-facing functions - and have turned it into an unstoppable force via your “one team” attitude. For me, late-night sessions on topics ranging from the physics of a brake rotor to the training of a neural network proved more valuable than any classroom experience that came before, and made the company stronger as a result. Going to work is not supposed to be this much fun.
@elonmusk : A heartfelt thanks for your endless love of humanity, and for demonstrating the power of thinking from first principles at all times, about all things. When Abundance is achieved and money ceases to have meaning, these lessons will be the most valuable commodity in our economy.
To the outside world, who may not have experienced the above first-hand: Remember that Tesla’s mission is so ambitious and complex that any narrative about the company is naturally an oversimplification. Seek the truth about the company at all times. And support it in any way that you can! There are few higher callings/better uses of your time.

@wmorrill3@cybertruck I love my truck and I drive hundreds of kilometres per week on FSD (71.4% as of this photo) but in our Ottawa weather this wiper and sprinklers really ruin the overall experience. I did just buy a new wiper. Any suggestions to improve the wiping?

@teslascope hey TeslaScope thanks for all the work you!
Question, I have a CT on 2025.44, I just subscribed to FSD and it’s on 13.2.9. when do you anticipate 14.X to come to this version? Thanks!
PS it’s in Canada
@JustATeslaGuy Yes. Charger wires were improperly installed which cause over heating. The NEMA plug is not EV rated (continuous use) may have gone bad.
It’s increasingly obvious there are two groups of people in the world:
Accountables
People who believe their rewards should be coupled to their effort and outcome.
Unaccountables
Louses who think that their mediocrity should always be rewarded under all circumstances.
If the Unaccountables win, we will become a lost society.
How do you spot an Unaccountable?
Ask them “What did you get done this week?”
It’s a normal question to an Accountable. It’s an existential risk to an Unaccountable. Their reaction will tell you which one they are.
@TeslaBoomerMama Hard to justify when the gps routing is not efficient and I need to disengage a lot in order to take a better route. Also HW3 in bad Canadian weather is not instilling confidence.
