@Graograman87171@ClydeDonnelly99@OTregub Any who gets rich anywhere is a criminal. It's part and parcel of becoming rich is breaking some kind of law(s) and getting away with it. No one becomes a billionaire by being nice and following the law. Fantasy world.
@LichaKenny@ladyeb@Killybegsgirl I don't think any of the curricula or exam structures have changed in the last 10 years, except for the addition of some new subjects and updates in the STEM subjects. I probably wouldn't know what I'm talking about with biology anymore. English, however, is the same exam pal.
@Calxo_@TurloughDonnell Just old probably. Cognitive function starts to decline rapidly around 50ish, coupled with an inability to process new tasks or learn new skills to any meaningful affect. I did my LC ten years ago and would probably make a good stab at today's paper. In 20 years, not so much.
@LichaKenny@ladyeb@Killybegsgirl Sorry, you study 5 poets because there are 8 on the list, so at least 1 of yours is guaranteed to come up. I did Yeats, Nรญ Chuilleanรกin, Plath, Dickinson and Frost in 2015. Got an A2, just like all my other subjects except an A1 in French and Irish. But nobody does that I guess.
@ZhexaBTC@TurloughDonnell I'm well aware, I did half the new course in 2015 and half the old. I couldn't use my sister's sample papers because she did it in 2010 and too much content had been removed from the curriculum for it to be relevant. Had a look at the paper from today, looked pretty much standard
@LichaKenny@ladyeb@Killybegsgirl Sure, everyone who got over 500 points must've just been lucky so. If you study 6 poets, one of them is guaranteed to come up, it's difficult but, again, like I said, plenty of students and teachers are able to do it. Or we can dumb everything down so dumb people can feel better.
@TurloughDonnell If you gave a LC student a maths paper from even 20 years ago they'd have a panic attack with how much they don't know. Huge gaps in the curriculum, they'll get a rude awakening how behind they are when they get to university and have to tackle advanced calculus & linear algebra
@TurloughDonnell If it was exceptionally hard then the marking scheme and bell curve will be adjusted to reflect that. A students will still get As, someone who is good at maths isn't suddenly going to forget everything. Huge grade inflation over the last few years from Covid needs to be tackled
@LewisJonathanE Thank Jonathan, very insightful, illuminating research. I'd be interested to read your essay on this subject. Unfortunately this piece of research just lacks that little bit of, well, research. In fact, it doesn't have anything even closely resembling research.
