Since resources are finite, growth is, in its nature, finite. Since growth is finite, the question inevitably becomes: who has all the resources?

That’s why this generation doesn’t care; we see the forest for the trees. It’s all corp marketing & slop in the end.

Because rather then competing with a select number of movies in a Cinema, it now has to compete w/the entire catalog of movies & tv shows. It's also competing against other entertainment options. Plus piracy eating into rentals.

@HeavenleeBunnie Gamers have gotten too spoiled imho. Too whiny & high of expectations. For less than $100 you get over 40-50 hrs of entertainment, sometimes more. Gaming still is the cheapest price per dollar value money can buy, even with regard to Triple A & the live service trash these days.

@Imissthe90ss @HeavenleeBunnie They do though. You realize for most of gaming we lived in micro-transactions hell? Those 90’s arcades used to cost a lot of quarters back in the day. You were paying per life back then. The golden age was for a short time from late 80’s-early 00’s. They weren’t cheap neither.

We’re also simplifying a very complex topic to 200+ char w/o even factoring in mobile & indie taking a good chunk of the marketshare from AAA. So really who the hell knows.🤷‍♂️

@mutantspicy @onyxicca They have to start thinking about the future. Sales have been slowing in games for years before all the politics got mixed into it. That just amplified the problem. But I promise you most of this is financial not politics. Straight males just dont spend as much on games anymore.

@mutantspicy @onyxicca As many as necessary until the right formula is found to drive new growth. Women and LGBT+ games are not going to be the same as games made for straight males. Let’s face it, they’ve exhausted almost all lever for us males. We’re staying in video games and they know that. 1/2
