Johnson & Johnson expanded global access to tuberculosis drug this week amid novelist and YouTube star John Green joining an advocacy campaign. https://t.co/pgSfHVUJCB
Please join me in sharing this message. Boycotts rarely work, but as a massive corporation, I know @JNJNews cares about their reputation. We need as many people to raise hell as humanly possible.

YOU SHOULD KNOW:
20 years ago, Johnson & Johnson created a drug called Bedaquiline that’s wildly effective at treating multi-drug resistant tuberculosis.
The vast majority of the funding for the drug’s development came from public sector investments.

J&J has shown that they will not bend without intense pressure. Doctors Without Borders, Partners in Health, and numerous TB experts and healthcare workers have already raised the alarm to no avail.

We need to #ENDTB and to do it we must make the best treatments available to everyone who needs them-especially the most vulnerable communities globally.
Join us in calling for @JNJNews to pledge they will not enforce secondary patents on bedaquiline: https://t.co/QiCp5uW1YU
@JortsTheCat We’re talking about @sportswithjohn calling out Johnson & Johnson for extending a 20 year patent on a lifesaving drug against TB for another 4 years, effectively sentencing millions to death who can’t afford the drug if the patent stays in place. https://t.co/J4YDbIA8fF
Johnson & Johnson (@JNJGlobalHealth) is unjustly extending a patent on a life-saving tuberculosis drug. Today's the day for them to realize denying MDR-TB patients treatment is not worth the harm they're causing to core brands like Tylenol and Neutrogena. https://t.co/JArPHWpmv5
@kattenbarge At 12, I told my dad I was ready to talk about sex. His response: “no you’re not.” Two years earlier, I’d been sexually assaulted - yet I was STILL intentionally kept in the dark. Participated in a “purity ceremony” the following yr with a host of other girls & their fathers. 🫠
A non-paywalled link to my piece in the @washingtonpost about the contemporary horror of tuberculosis and @JanssenGlobal's pursuit of secondary patents that will cause much needless suffering and death. https://t.co/Rd21fwOA3n #endTB
Did you know that a black enslaved man was responsible for introducing innoculation (vaccination) to America?
Onesimus, introduced the idea of vaccination based upon the African practice of inoculation in Libya,to help mitigate spread of smallpox thus saving lives

@RepUnderwood Hi Representative Underwood, can you tell us where to find the signed law? I still only see that this was introduced in July 2022, but no further movement per https://t.co/RJ1aN9eMdM. Looking forward to seeing the final approved law! https://t.co/wnZOn0eMJu
@COGWaterPower Sounded like a crash - did someone hit a utility pole? Is there an estimated ETA for resolution (minutes, hours, days)? Thanks for keeping us updated!
