@sevier_nick I see…I said “if” I prescribed. I believe if I would’ve said “I prescribe…” then I would’ve agreed with your inference. No, I’ve never used those techniques but I am trying to think carefully and wisely about the body and if there is room for addressing embodied issues.

@sevier_nick So if I prescribed sipping tea as growth work for helping someone to calm in an anxious moment, then I am intentionally connecting sipping tea with the source for calmness and peace.

@sevier_nick Certainly… Or at least I think I can. I think I was trying to find a word that would embody intentionality. If I prescribe something then I’m being intentional about what I’m telling a counselor. With that in mind, it would be connected to a certain methodology or a paradigm.

@sevier_nick It seems that some of the differences I see within the counseling conversations have to do with whether or not the things you’ve mentioned are gifts to be used by God to help versus them being in competition with God and His Word.

@sevier_nick Thank you for your response. Yes, o know words we use like my use of “organic” or “intentional” was just my attempt to explain and understand. Yes, I see where if such things are directed to be done within a counseling paradigm it would be seen as being the source of peace.

@jasonkovacs @BradHambrick I’m honestly trying to understand the benefit it provides to the church. It just seems to strengthen the resolve in each camp. I enjoyed the debate, but just struggling to see the broader benefit.
