My heart goes out to Joshua and his family! If anyone has a startup or a part of the startup community all in Austin knows the positive impact that Joshua had to so many.
Agreed. I think the underrated value of subagents is context hygiene.
A good subagent should:
- receive a narrow context pack
- operate in a bounded scope
- return a structured packet / receipt
- avoid polluting the parent loop with raw logs
Thatโs where the system starts to scale.
The key with agents spawning agents is making the child agent disposable.
Parent owns: goal, state, integration decision.
Child owns: one bounded task.
Child returns a packet/receipt, not a new universe of logs.
Thatโs the difference between delegation and uncontrolled recursion.
I built this after my own repo turned into a multi-agent mess: multiple chats, multiple Codex runs, worktrees, logs, completions, and no clean way to know what happened.
CodeLanes is the harness I wish I had before I started.
I open-sourced CodeLanes.
A multi-agent auto-build harness for running many AI coding agents across separate lanes and tasks simultaneously โ w/o losing state, mixing branches, or drown in logs.
Core idea:
The model is stateless.
The lane is stateful.

@dimon1s@mdixon2003@yonann lol. No bankrupt protection means the debt stays forever and the irs garnishes your wages (with interest). The Collateral is the borrowers ages for the next 60 years.
