I think in the US it would be impossible to keep paid actors at this scale secret. But they could be offering highly unprofitable promos. When I lived in nyc back when uber and Lyft were originally fighting for territory there- Lyft offered New Yorkers 50 free rides - something like $1500+ value per person. It did go viral.

@MikeFritzell It’s impressive. Even though they achieved this virality in China already, NYC is one of the most competitive places for viral F&B stuff- there is just so much. I don’t know how they did it but it’s clearly very smart.

@HaggsBoson @BangkokDi Covid is like the flu. It keeps circulating. Maybe you don’t believe in the flu vaccine, but it’s a similar concept and is quite helpful in reducing symptoms and risk of getting it. Basic stuff.
