Newer Themes & Patterns of Investing are emerging in 2023…here are a few that I picked up at GSF Founders-Investors Mixer at @TheQuorumClub

1) AI is disruptive but our fastest zero to Rs100CR revenue company from India in Surge is a D2C brand - took 9 months and got there with +20% PAT" @RajanAnandan @SequoiaIndiaSEA

2) We have already invested Rs 1100 crs in acquisitions & domestic SaaS companies…we will focus on a few late stage investments in 2023 @DineshAgarwal @IndiaMART

3) Generative AI is a massive opportunity so is EV @rahultaneja @LightspeedIndia

4) We remain bullish on India Consumption story & Sustainability @AnupOrios @OriosVP

However the 2 most debated topics were:

1) Are Indian VCs going to fund a few moonshots in 2023? Current flavour seems to be to fund profitable startups.

2) AI and its impact on the society and startups is the elephant in the room..expect all VCs to have 2-3 Generative AI startups in their portfolio but would VC investment model itself be distrusted by AI?
