Urgent Appeal from Gaza

A genuine international movement must begin today to deliver all types of aid — especially mobile homes — without delay.
Thousands of families remain homeless under the open sky, their houses reduced to rubble.

Gaza has not only lost its homes — its entire health, education, and public service systems have collapsed.
Hospitals have been destroyed, universities shut down, and water and electricity cut off for all residents.

Arab and Islamic countries, as well as Spain, Italy, Brazil, Latin American nations, and all active international institutions, must immediately shoulder their moral and humanitarian responsibility by sending floating hospitals, power-generation ships, water desalination stations, tents, generators, heavy machinery to remove debris, and urgent food and medical aid.

Saving Gaza is not just a humanitarian act — it is a moral duty before history, before the city turns into a mass grave for the living, whose lives have been shattered by Israel’s genocidal war.

Two years of war carved my soul into something unrecognizable. Gaza was no longer a city — it was a scream buried beneath rubble and smoke. I was a doctor, yes, but in truth, I was just a man trying to hold together what death kept tearing apart.

My daughter, Yafa, was only nine months old when the sky fell on us. A piece of shrapnel found her tiny body before she could even say my name. They took her to Turkey to save her life, while I stayed behind — a father without a child, a man without peace — fighting to save others while losing myself.

For two endless years, I moved through blood and ash, hearing her in every child’s cry, seeing her in every face I touched. I whispered her name between heartbeats, afraid the world might forget her.

And then, by what could only be called a miracle, I escaped. I crossed the distance between life and death and found myself in Turkey — in front of her.

But when Yafa saw me, she did not run to my arms.
She looked at me with the eyes of a stranger.
She didn’t know me.
She only knew the voice from the phone, the image flickering on a cracked screen, the man people spoke of in past tense.

In that moment, I broke.
Not because of the war I survived —
but because, even in survival, I had lost the one thing I was fighting to return to.

🇵🇸🇺🇳Palestinian-American legal scholar Noura Erakat (@4noura) made history Monday as only the second Palestinian woman to brief the UN Security Council since October 7, 2023— and the first to present the legal case that Israel’s war on Gaza is genocide.

Speaking for over 10 minutes, Erakat explained how Israel’s campaign amounts to the deliberate destruction of Palestinian life, laying out a four-part case of genocide through attacks on reproductive capacity:

⭕️ Stage 1 - Preventing conception:
92% of homes destroyed, privacy impossible. Systematic sexual torture in captivity including rape, forced nudity, electrocution of genitalia, creating trauma that impede sexual intimacy. Israel bombed the Al-Basma fertility clinic, destroying 4,000 embryos and over 1,000 vials of genetic material. Birth rates have plummeted 41% since 2022.

⭕️ Stage 2 - Preventing gestation:
Constant bombardment, destroyed medical facilities, hunger and disease make carrying pregnancies nearly impossible. Miscarriage rates increased 300% by 2024.

⭕️ Stage 3 - Preventing delivery:
55,000 women lack prenatal care. Fifteen women weekly deliver in “appalling conditions”—public bathrooms, without hospitals. Erakat describes C-sections without anesthesia, and “pain beyond human tolerance.”

⭕️ Stage 4 - Preventing survival:
Famine has been confirmed. Over 60% of mothers can’t produce milk due to starvation. At least 450 babies were born and killed during the genocide.

She urged the Council to ensure any end to the genocide does not come at the expense of accountability or international law—calling for UN, not Israeli, oversight of Gaza. She also called for protection of ICC and ICJ proceedings, and for ensuring that Palestinian women take part in rebuilding Gaza.

“Should you be paralyzed by fear, look to Palestinian women. They refused to surrender. Neither should you,” she concluded.
