Gender equality will come only through people’s mindsets.

Just check the proportion of men:women suicide rates, especially married category.
Now think about the 49 laws that women can use, while men have none, and weep upon the inherent bias in the system.

The tragic case of Atul Subash, a software engineer who took his own life after relentless legal harassment and extortion, highlights this crisis. His dying declaration exposed misuse of laws and lack of support for men facing injustice.

While powerful men often evade accountability, countless ordinary men suffer in silence, with no platform to express their struggles or seek justice. There is now a growing demand for a National Commission for Men (NCM) to address such issues.

I think this is a wise move by the govt. Criminalizing marital rape would rip apart the social fabric. Giving a brahmastra to women who could just wake up the next morning after a fight and accuse the husband of rape.
Not to forget that men and their families in India are already suffering because of false charges with no legal clauses to protect them from women coyotes. I think married women already have the law in favor of them, and they don't even need a witness.
