@Mavs_FFL Quite possibly they were getting that information from Leon Rose NYK President or his son, Sam, JB’s agent.
All that to say, if the offer was a bit higher, it’s doubtful Brunson would’ve signed with DAL because they were shopping him.
Yet another massive mistake by this club.
@Mavs_FFL Yeah, this was out there right before the TDL that year. He and DFS were offered the same contract, same time essentially.
And the $ wasn’t so crazy at the time, TBH. The bigger problem was that JB and his dad were told that Dallas was putting him into trades pkgs…
@PranavSriraman Pranav, I'm so sorry to read this about Heidi's passing. As someone who has little guys running around the house, this is a day we dread.
I'm betting you gave her a wonderful life, and you loved her. Heidi knew and felt this when she closed her eyes.
My thoughts are with you.
@NationMffl@redditmavericks But … 3P% and efficiency!
LOL they’re talking “efficiency” and “impact.” Like a third option doesn’t benefit from open looks and NOT getting the attention as the primary everything.
Coop did what he did without the benefit of >100 mill in talent on the court for Dallas.
@AndrewDBailey This won’t go like you think.
Kon is great. But Coop, 16 mo younger, has been producing at historic levels despite not having talent around him to spread the floor and create spacing opportunities.
Different animal entirely doing this as the #1 option.
@All_Things_Mavs I don’t know too many fans who embrace the choice of Finley or Riccardi.
These options are not very appealing, at least to me. We might as well end up with Cam Boozer and then the offseason would be a perfect disaster.
@Mavs_FFL What people? Jason Kidd sparked a 23-win jump in ’95. Dallas went from 13 wins to playoff hope—until Jim Jackson’s ankle injury ended it.
Kidd’s impact was real. A great player!
