As we celebrate our 99th Foundation Day on 7th of April we look back at the legacy.
Born in 1927, at the behest of our Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, FICCI has been more than just a business chamber - it has been a partner in India’s journey from a colonial economy to a global powerhouse.
As we look back on nearly a century of advocacy, policy influence, and industrial growth, we reaffirm our commitment to Viksit Bharat.
To our members, partners, and the entire business community: Thank you for being part of this incredible legacy. Here’s to many more years of industrial excellence and nation-building!

The Union Budget reaffirms the Government’s commitment to a Viksit Bharat and its vision for sustained growth building a strong foundation across manufacturing, healthcare and infrastructure. The Budget also strengthens regulatory frameworks for faster approvals, focuses on strengthening supply chains for food, cosmetics, and nutraceuticals and trade facilitation measures are commendable. These measures will lower compliance costs, increase predictability and accelerate market access giving an impetus to business growth, innovation and global competitiveness for India and the FMCG industry: Mr Manish Anandani, Co-Chair FICCI FMCG Committee & Managing Director - India, Kenvue.

FICCI welcomes the Labour Codes becoming effective today. The Codes enhance industry competitiveness through single registration, reduced overlap, and streamlined processes, while ensuring minimum wages for all, improved OSH standards, annual health check-ups, maternity and social-security protections, and safer night-shift opportunities for women. A transformative step for Viksit Bharat: FICCI DG Ms @jvij1967.

With the four Labour Codes now effective, FICCI appreciates this significant step in modernising India’s labour ecosystem.
The reforms offer clarity and predictability for employers, and bring major worker gains: equal pay, portability of social security, protections for gig/platform workers and expanded inclusion for women and youth across sectors: Mr @anantgoenka19, President-Elect, FICCI.

Through the Budget the government has made a strong effort to address the immediate challenges being faced by the economy, particularly on the consumption front, while keeping an eye on the long-term target of ‘Viksit Bharat’. For the private sector, reservations in employment should not be mandated by law: FICCI.
Viksit Bharat agenda calls for minimum government and maximum governance, as mentioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister several times. We need to work towards removing all internal barriers and make India one integrated marketplace for the business. The transition to GST is an outstanding example of removing barriers and making it easier to do business in India. Any regulation in the private sector for employment will not only limit the sources for attracting the right talent but will be a major constraint for innovation, which is the need of the hour in today’s globally competitive world. For a private sector that thrives on efficiency and innovation, reservations in employment should not be mandated by law.
FICCI delegation led by Mr Munjal Shroff, Co-Chair, FICCI AVGC Committee along with Mr Manvendra Shukul, Chair, FICCI M&E Skill-Ed Forum, Mr Chaitanya Chinchlikar, VP, Whistling Woods International, and Ms Leena Jaisani, Deputy Secretary General, FICCI, met with Mr @AshwiniVaishnaw, Hon'ble Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The discussion focused on various issues, including the strengthening of the AVGC sector and the overall Media and Entertainment industry.
