Terrible officiating by Referee Ilgiz Tantashev. The fact that not a single Paraguayan player was booked is shameful, disgraceful and unfair. Was he waiting till a French player got injured??
Big John Thompson had a great clip about how the sports and business world hated educated athletes...Still seeing this issue showing this with how The Celtics dealt with Jaylen Brown
Actually, Jaylen Brown took a master’s degree course while in his first (freshman) year of undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley (which requires permission from the Dean) and reportedly held his own.
He turned down an internship at NASA. He is thus obviously smartest than most people. Not just on a basketball court, but in general.
Some people are just confused because he happens to ALSO be a world-class basketball player and an NBA Champion. It is certainly unusual.
Intelligence is multifaceted (academic, practical, emotional, creative, etc.), so labeling anyone the absolute “smartest” is subjective and unquantifiable. That said, the documented record shows Jaylen Brown operates at a high level intellectually and uses his platform thoughtfully. This is far beyond what most people, athletes or otherwise, achieve.
The combination of world-class athletic talent and genuine academic/advocacy engagement is rare enough to be misunderstood. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s made mistakes as well.
But he really is brilliant. I don’t pretend to know what happened in this case though, and can’t speak for any organization.
Having someone like that could be an incredible asset to an NBA front office and their data scientists with the right approach.
Naturally, it will generate insecurities in a minority, but it should inspire most.

The third webinar in the “Accelerating Medical Research in Africa” series is live.
Dr. Felicia Nkrumah Kuagbezi of the Association of African Universities highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in research and the importance of using these tools responsibly.
She emphasised that as AI becomes increasingly integrated into research workflows, researchers must ensure its use upholds research integrity, transparency, and ethical standards.
Dr. Nkrumah also reaffirmed AAU’s commitment to strengthening impactful research systems across Africa, noting that digital transformation and technology adoption are key priorities in advancing higher education and medical research on the continent.

From 3–5 March 2026, @HAQAA_3 conducted a Full Agency Review of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), Namibia. The site visit is part of an agency review (or consultancy visit), which is an exercise that goes beyond the site visit itself, benchmarked against the African Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ASG-QA).
This process goes beyond compliance. It is a practical step towards building comparable, trusted quality assurance systems across Africa, so that QA decisions are transparent, institutions are supported to improve, and qualifications can be understood and trusted across borders.
Through structured peer engagement and evidence-based review, the mission examined how NCHE:
• ensures consistency and transparency in its QA processes
• strengthens institutional improvement and accountability
• engages stakeholders, including institutions and students
• aligns national practice with continental standards to support recognition and mobility

Understanding the publishing landscape is key to research success.
Victoria Corless, Ph.D., Associate Director, Community Development (@tandfonline), highlighted different research outputs and routes to publication — from journal articles to datasets and preprints.
She also shared the top reasons papers are rejected, including targeting the wrong journal, weak frameworks, and poor adherence to guidelines.
A reminder for researchers: choose the right outlet and publish strategically.
