Happy #NPWeek to our amazing NPs @cityofhope! The NPs on our team, including Duveen Sturgeon, Brittany Bradford and @ElisabethMKing are fantastic. Thanks for all you do for our team & patients.
Enjoyed celebrating the @cityofhope 2023 #DrArtiHurria ‘Clinical Mentor of the Year’ @ArmenianSaro, ‘Clinical Teacher of the Year’ #DrJoanneMortimer & ‘Research Mentor of the Year’ @MLaBarge_uno. Well deserved awards all around.
Was incredibly meaningful to have Dr. Hurria’s family present to celebrate these awards; also learned tonight that our new leader @DrMvandenBrink had crossed paths with #DrHurria at @MSKCancerCenter & was inspired by her in the same way we all have been.
@cityofhope and TGen are leading an international group that has been awarded $4.5 million from @theNCI to validate a liquid biopsy for the early detection of pancreatic cancer. Learn more: Link https://t.co/krO629RXxf

Friday thoughts:
Dear fellows & junior faculty,
Later in your career, the abstract section of your CV will be lengthy but people will gloss over it. Presenting abstracts is fun & an important part of academic development (via networking, honing presentation skills, etc.), but the papers are what ultimately count (on the job search & for promotion). Be sure that when you write an abstract, construction of the paper is underway. Having "hot of the press" data you've just presented at a meeting fed into a manuscript also appeals to editors/reviewers.

Great session on germline testing in lung cancer #ASCO23. Drs Martin, Fennell and Ms Hathaway shed light on the importance of testing for both patients & family members. TP53, EGFR T790M, BAP1 and the list is growing in light of new data presented at ASCO
Delighted to see the #GeneticsAdviser advance the delivery of genomic testing and services. Congrats to the team for the important contribution of their study!
